Whale Watching & Butchart Gardens

There weren't a ton of people on the boat so it felt like a very personal experience. We were warned we might not see anything, which was disappointing.. however we saw a whale early on and watched it for a while. Very cool. Staff were awesome. Plan on very warm clothing as out on the ocean is very cold, I did and I still got cold, so over prepare. They do have blankets available and an inside space to stay warmer. We also got to see sea lions on an island. The gardens are awesome and beautiful! They give you times to get picked up, but these had changed and it was either be there for 1.5 hrs or 4.5 so it felt rushed, and we did see almost everything but were didn't want to be there until 9 at night esp. When the cafe and food places were closed by the time we got there. Was raining, but they provided us with umbrellas. Overall very happy and good experience.

We enjoyed nd highly recommend Andrew, Sandy, Amy and James as very knowledgeable and pleasant crew.

Had the most spectacular whale watching adventure. The scenery was just gorgeous, the crew was friendly and knowledgeable. We saw amazing birds, bald eagles and a truly spectacular orca sighting seeing 4 or 5 orcas and being able to observe them for probably 20 minutes. I know they can’t guarantee that every time but they do their best to locate them if able. Loved it!!!

I had to give this one a 3 because the whale-watching cruise for us was a bust & we regret we took it; not worth the money it cost; however, the Butchart Gardens part was definitely a 5 & we will be recommending that to everyone who asks.

Okay. I thought this was going to be an expensive, cheesy tour. I only did it because I was with a friend who thought it would be a fun thing to do. The professionalism, knowledge, and generosity of the crew was quite remarkable. We saw countless whales-then birds including a huge bald eagle. Seals and sea otters-then the gardens, which alone could have been an entire day. One crew member actually shared her professional quality photos of the trip. I assumed they were for sale and would have gladly paid $50+ for those photos-whales, otters, and that eagle-FREE!!! (I hope she isn't in trouble for that, but I do wish I could give her credit for all of the compliments I have received on her photos). Great experience. Great value.

This tour was fantastic!!! We saw 3 yes 3 pods of whales. The crew was very knowledgeable and nice. It was an unforgettable experience. This is a don't miss tour if you are a nature loving person.

Unfortunately we had no luck to see any Orca, we saw twice a whale but very far away.

We saw whales, but that part was not the best, then these amazing gardens. The history and the beauty of the gardens was beyond the imagination and among the best I've seen anywhere in the world.

Beautiful sunny day , Really great crew , Maeve was very informative and knew her information on the Killer Whales which we all watched the pod for quite a while all very well organized .Butchart Gardens are great to see and the history that goes with it .

Never saw any whales - not even a fish. Loved Butchart Gardens though!
