Was picked up 45 min late and was told the tour was full once we were at the port to board the boat. Not a good experience at all. If you tell me to be ready at my hotel by 8:45 AM then don't show up at 9:30 to pick me up. And make sure you haven't overbooked the tour I paid $320 for!!!

Our guide was good and knew the best timing for our tour around Capri and the blue grotto. Our only wish would have been to spend more time in the blue grotto, it was very quick

Busy Capri

What a busy hectic day, and talking to the guides we had, it’s like this every day. Giovanni was awesome, very organized, helped us skip the line to take the chairlift to the top of the island (which was well worth it for the brilliant views). The visit to Capri was short, but more time was spent in Anacapri, which is we here the lunch, chairlift and Blue Grotto were all accessed from. The day was perfect and we were able to get into the Blue Grotto after lunch, which was awesome. In amongst all the chaos of the island itself, Saschen and Giovanni were very organized and made the day very enjoyable.

a very nice group tour with some flexibility

Our guide Sasha accomodated us even though we got there a little late. We were lucky to get into Blue Grotto as I understand only 30% of the time will conditions permit entry. We had time to do some things on our own, such as the chair lift to the top of the island. We had a nice time, and except for getting there on time, we never felt rushed.

this is by far the worst tour I have had with Viator, I want to get money back if it is possible I don't even know how to start with it is an all day tour and the tour guide didn't do much, he dropped off the group in different point of interests in the island and then disappeared the group just walked around and regroup after 45 minutes or so, we simply repeated this a few times and that's it I have realized many of the recent 1 star reviews about this tour, and I don't understand why Viator didn't do anything about it

This wasn't really a guided tour. We paid a premium price for ferry tickets and the rest of the day we were herded like cattle with very little time to do anything on our own. Most of our time was spent waiting for the ferry or various buses. We met our guide Sasha at 9:50a, then waited to board the ferry at 10:45a. We boarded a huge ferry with several hundred people. Our group of 50 was told to meet at back of ferry as it reaches Capri so we could be first to the Blue Grotto. There we waited 30 min before getting on buses to go to Capri where we had just 40 min to look around. Then another 20 min waiting/getting on buses then drive to Anacapri where we had only 1 hour to look around before lunch. We had a very uninteresting lunch at Ristorante Barbarossa, where drinks i.e. water was not included. There was no guiding about the island, we were only told where to meet to get on buses. We paid quite a premium for someone to buy us ferry tickets. It was quite a stressful day and a waste of a day in Italy.

We were told to meet at 10:15 but then had to wait 45 minutes for all the other participants to arrive on the coach from hotels. We had been led to believe the tour was in English but it turned out to be in English, Spanish and German. The jetfoil was in fact the main ferry to the island - no skip the line, we had to queue up with everybody else to get on board. We eventually arrived on Capri around 11:40. We went swiftly to a smaller boat to head out to the Blue Grotto - we were told by the guide that we had to wait our turn to go into the Grotto in the rowing boats, it was not clear how many boats were ahead of us and we appreciated how lucky we were to experience the Blue Grotto but we did not expect to have to sit bobbing up and down for almost two hours before we eventually were able to go into the Grotto - by this time many people were feeling unwell on the boat. Returning to the island we were herded onto two minibuses - one for English speakers and the other for Spanish speakers for the drive up to Anacapri. We were directed into a restaurant for a very substandard meal and then were told by the guide that we had just one hour to explore the island before we had to meet up to catch the jetfoil back to Sorrento. It was very disappointing that we had to spend so much time waiting around, which meant that we had no time at all to see Capri town and barely any time to see Anacapri - for the cost of the tour it was certainly not value for money and we would not recommend it.

We had a great time on this tour. I actually did this tour last year as well but this time the Grotta Azzurra was open. Sasha was great and a great tour guide. We had a sensational time. This time I got to to see the famous rocks from a hill after taking the sky ride to the other side from Anacapri. The Grotta Azzurra was great and the line wasn't that bad even though it was July. The ride itself is about 4 minutes but still very memorable. Sasha knew what time was best for us to get there. When we arrived to Capri, we went to Anacapri first. We also had lunch included in Anacapri and all transfers. Overall, we had a great time.

Tour guides were great. The tour itself is a little unorganized but because of the unpredictability of the Grotto not sure if there is much that can be done about that. Not much time to see the island of Capri.

We were lucky enough to get to the blue Grotto and enjoy Capri, which was amazing . We probably would have preferred a small group tour for the Grotto and Capri. We were surprised to find ourselves on a huge ferry with lots of others. Which at times we were worried about getting lost or finding the meeting points on time.

At the end of the day, the only thing that was helpful on this tour was the fact that someone told you where to stand and someone ie. the tour guide had already purchased the tickets on your behalf so you didn't have to stand in line. Other than that, the price paid was NOT worth the tour. You board the ferry in Sorrento - depending on how many other people are in your group, you could be waiting there for 45 minutes before you actually leave on the ferry. Ie. we were told to be ready at 9:45am, we didn't depart on the ferry until at least 10:30. This was NO SMALL group - there were about 35-40 people in our group- half Spanish speaking, the other half English speaking. Do not expect any narration or guided history-like tour. Once you arrive in Capri, and you know that you will in fact be able to head over to the Blue Grotto, the chaos mounts as well as the frustration. While the Grotto is obviously the draw of the tour, you arent told that you might sit in a small boat, rocking back and forth for upwards of an hour or more, in the blazing sun, without water, before you are able to board a small row boat now your third boat of the day for your chance to enter the Grotto. Given the fact that our tour guides were split between 3 boats while waiting outside the Grotto, we had no idea what was going on while, and no communication while we sat tipping back and forth. All you could see were fancy high-end boats rolling up and their patrons quickly hoping onto the row boats and into the Grotto while we sat clueless as to our fate. While this all might be part of how the system works, it wasnt until after sitting for an hour in the sun that we got some clue as to the chain of events. There are 3 groups of row boats those designated to row the people that have come from land that are lined up on the shore, those that have arrived by small personal boat I think it was something like boats with 5 people or less ie. the fancy boats and then those that have come by tourist boat boats with 8-12 people on them. Bottom line, be prepared to wait. And bring water from Sorrento or the ferry with you. It can be a LONG wait. And if you have any sea sickness inclinations, boat number 2 waiting for the Grotto will push you over the edge. Several people on our tour gave up, boarded another boat and headed back to Capri skipping the Grotto all together. The Grotto was one of a kind but knowing what I know now, Im not sure I would do it again. Especially considering you are literally inside the Grotto for about 3-4 minutes. The lunch was mediocre, nothing terribly remarkable which was a disappointment considering its Italian food IN Italy imagine yourself in an average quality Brooklyn Italian restaurant, being rushed to eat, and served by disgruntled Italian men. Given the time the Grotto took which cant be predicted we didnt have much free time, but we were able to take the chair lift up Monte Solaro. That was worth the additional fee. Once back to the ferry to return to Sorrento, the chaos begins again for some reason our dock changed and while one guide would try to intercept you and the other meet you at the newly appointed dock, not all the passengers could be accounted for and ended up on a ferry to Naples. Im assuming they then had to make the trip to Naples, then wait for a ferry back to Sorrento, and figure out the rest on their own including a ride to their respective hotels. The guides didnt seem terribly concerned and in fact were dropped off by the shuttle back in the city center to head home themselves while the handful of tourists were somewhere in Naples. On one hand, maybe there was nothing for the guides to do but if I had paid 150 for the day Id want someone there to make sure I had the information to get back to where I started from and the transportation back to my hotel. Bottom line: expensive, overcrowded, chaotic, not worth it.

Our tour guides were late and also delayed our tour leaving Sorrento for an hour and 10minutes as the bus of people were also late so we did not leave until 11am when our tour started at 9:50am! They did not meet us in the correct location, so we had called the company who had given us the guides number whom we had contacted and he had then come to meet us later than stated on this tour description. We did not get into Capri to start the tour till 12 when we were so rushed and only have 30 minutes to quickly walk up the road then back. Nothing at all was organised properly. We were then thrown onto a random bus and rushed to anacapri for a quick speedy lunch and barely half an hour to look around. When we were just grabbing our final souvenir, the guide told us he could not wait for us to do so and walked off.... Horrible! Lunch was cheap and nothing special. Pasta and pizza was basic, desert was okay and the starter wasn't even a salad. For the price we paid, we were disappointed as we could of had a much better lunch and day for a lot cheaper. We made it to the bus to go to Blue grotto - which was stunning - but again, a long, long wait to get here.. took almost two hours of the day waiting in line. Once we got back to the main marina area, we then were given 45minutes of free time before we had to be back on the boat to Sorrento. If we had left on time in the morning we would of had an extra hour or so throughout the day. I wouldn't choose this tour again as this experience was not the best. It is worth your while to just do a day ferry from Sorrento to Capri and pay for the Blue Grotto on the day.

This tour is advertised differently to how it is. It was very disorganised, there was a lot of waiting and we got told 4 different locatuons for pick up. Due to the weather we did not even get to go to the blue grotto which I know isn't the tours fault but very disappointing. Would not recommend !

It was a nice day but a bit rushed. The Grotta Azzurra was closed. We had fun in Anacapri time to shop and we had lunch. Through it all, Sasha was a good guide and we had fun.
