The food tour offered a varied menu. Mine ranged from a delicious vegan seafood to a shrimp jicama taco. The venues were interesting and located conveniently around the plaza. It was nice to watch the sunset at some of the rooftop locations. Beautiful orange hazed sunsets enhanced the dining experience. The history given regarding the food was informative and entertaining.

Our guide, Pascal, was great! He not only took us to interesting places and had us try a variety of foods, but he also provided us history about San Miguel de Allende. I think the price of this tour is a little steep for the food that you get, but hopefully it is because they pay their guides well!

Les did such a wonderful job of sharing the history of Mexico interweaving it with the history of San Miguel. We found out SO MANY factoids we had never known or heard before. The restaurant chosen for the food tour were within easy walking distant to the jardin, and all food choices were delicious. The huitlacoche soup was a pleasant and fun surprise. Learned all about a dish that sounds off putting but is really quite extraordinary. Les kept our tour moving along but it didn’t feel hurried or disjointed. Les made our food tour really come alive with history interspersed with food.

This is a definite “must do” in San Miguel de Allende. Pascal was our guide and took us to spots we probably wouldn’t have found on our own. Great evening spent strolling the streets and tasting different local delicacies. The chefs at these restaurants were expecting us and had prepared special dishes to sample. We took a break from the food and checked out a new mezcal bar he’d never been to before. So much fun learning about mezcal from the proprietors. Pascal also gives a great history lesson about Mexico and the area. A very enjoyable evening.

Chef Leslie was extremely knowledgeable; we felt spoiled to have such a culinary and cultural expert showing us the best of SMA. And the food… truly the best! We had a hard time deciding what exactly was our favorite - it was all just so good! We tried new foods, and new takes on classic dishes, every bit of it packed with amazing flavor. We will definitely be doing this every time we come back to SMA, and cannot recommend it enough to our friends.

Our tour guide Lesley was very pleasant, spoke English for us , was very knowledgeable about the food and the history. We enjoyed the three hour tour, so full of the delicious foods that we tried.
