Experience a true tropical paradise on this high-speed catamaran adventure to one of the most secluded and unspoiled spots in the Caribbean. This Culebra tour is the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, good food and drinks and a laid-back afternoon sunbathing and swimming on some of the world’s most pristine beaches.

Start your day trip with optional pickup from select hotels in San Juan, and head for your catamaran cruise leaving from Puerto del Rey ferry terminal in Fajardo. Soak up the sun on the short ride on your speedy vessel, refreshment already in hand, and take in the amazing views of the nearby Cordillera Islands Nature Reserve along the way.

The first stop of the day takes you to the pristine Carlos Rosario or Luis Peña underwater nature reserve, just off the western shore of Culebra, for fantastic snorkeling (bring your own equipment) among the area’s beautiful aquatic environment.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, enjoy a delicious buffet spread including tropical cocktails, soda, juice, iced tea, fresh fruit, gourmet pasta salad, coleslaw or bean salad, freshly baked bread, sliced meats (turkey, ham, pastrami or salami), seafood or chicken salad, sliced cheese, chips and cookies.

From there, take a short sail to one of Culebra’s unspoiled beaches for an afternoon of sunbathing, swimming and beach combing. Depending on weather conditions, your captain will take you to one of two choices: the stunning Flamenco Beach, situated on Culebra’s main island, or the half-mile long beach at Culebrita, a small islet that offers beautiful views of nearby Saint Thomas.

Finish your day with a return cruise to Fajardo, arriving back at the marina to make your own way home or via optional hotel transport.

A very disappointing experience

I understand that the weather is not ideal for sailing to Culebra Island! But we can’t accept the way they are handling it. I think they are supposed to ask the passengers’ opinions first, if most of the passengers agree to go to deserted island, then they can go. In fact, they didn’t ask for anyone’s opinion. For us, going to Culebra island is our No 1 to do during our stay in PR, we are all really excited about it and looking forward to having a great snorkeling experience there. Unfortunately the snorkeling spot on deserted island is disappointing, we didn’t see many fish , instead we saw a lot of jellyfish there and our 6-year -old kid is afraid of them. So we’d rather changing to another date if the weather is not good enough.

At no fault of the company, I was unexpectedly, horribly seasick the entire 6 hours! Unfortunately, the company did not supply medication for it on the vessel. The staff were all humorous, helpful & professional otherwise. Chicken salad wraps, fruit & drinks were all very tasty. The water was pretty choppy, we were given flotation belts & the staff helped anyone who wasn't a good swimmer back & forth from the beach when requested. The last stop there was no beach but a fab area for snorkeling. Marine life was present, very enjoyable for someone who wasn't ill.

Gorgeous private beach. Unfortunately due to choppy water we could not go to Culebra Island but we still had a great time. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The water was crystal clear. Make sure to bring your own snorkeling gear as they only provided fins due to Covid. Highly recommend this day trip.

We have confirmed Wed reservation from Viator, only found out when we arrived that our trip is Thursday. We had to go somewhere else for Wed and in the middle of the Wed, we got a call saying weather on Thursday was not good for kid age 8, so we ended up canceling the whole trip. It is apparently Viator did not coordinate with local operator.

Great scenery. Water quite choppy. More than half the boat was sick from motion. Make sure you take meds before going. Second stop shortened due to heavy wind. Rained quite a bit. Provided lunch was not what was quoted. I would recommend you pack a lunch, just in case. Trip was shorter than quoted. I think it was still worth the price.

Honest, with integrity

The crew was honest enough to contact us the day before to cancel(w/ full refund) because of choppy seas. In my experience, that is huge. Most of these tour companies would have still taken us out in poor conditions, just for the money. Thanks guys. I will definitely try again next time im in Puerto Rico.

The experience was fantastic. Although we were not able to make it to our final destination, the substitute island and reefs were just as beautiful and much less crowded. It was a little bumpy getting to the islands but overall would definitely recommend and do the tour again next time in Puerto Rico.
