Great food tour

Great tour and an even better guide, Isabella was a joy! She was informative and generous at every turn. She truly loves her city and it shows. My only wish would have been on the north beach portion of the tour better things to taste, the fudge didn’t really give me the Italian vibe I was expecting.

Favorite tour during our first visit to San Francisco

, Jul 2022
We booked numerous tours around the San Francisco area, and this, by far, was the best. Our tour guide Brian was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable about the city and guided us towards the best restaurants to eat as well. Brian was entertaining and was very welcoming to everyone on this tour. We enjoyed the variety of tastings along the way! It was well worth the cost and the time we spent on this tour. We would do it again without question.

Isabella was very knowledgeable and engaging. The food that we tried was quite ecletic and tasty. We even went to a tea shop and learned about all the different types of tea that come from China and how each leaf has different medicinal substances to increase your health and energy.

Memorable afternoon in San Francisco

I've booked a number of food tours and find it a fantastic way to get to know things about a city that I might not learn by stumbling around on my own or doing my own research and planning. Sometimes it's nice to come together with a group of strangers and learn from new people as well as a local host. My Chinatown and North Beach tour did not disappoint. It's important to know that this is both a neighborhood and food tour, so there's as much learning about the area and the people there as there is eating. Don't worry, there's plenty of food, but also interesting things about the neighborhoods and people that live there today as well as a historical background that helps us understand how the area was created and how it got to where it is. The food ranges from simple and local to unusual and experience driven. The people I met made this tour complete. Our guide had a dry sense of humor and knew the area and the people in it, making our group feel immersed in our experience. You get what you put into group activities and our tour, made up of three different groups, had a wonderful time learning from our guide, visiting with each other, asking questions and learning about the places we visited. I've been raving about my experience since returning home and feel lucky to have met Brian and spent the afternoon with him as our guide. Our group had so much fun that we stayed together far past the end of the tour and visited with extra food and wine at our last stop for another couple of hours. This is a must experience for anyone looking to expand their thinking and enjoy a few hours learning on the go while trying a variety of foods. I wouldn't hesitate to take this tour again and look forward to going back to a number of locations with family in the future.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. The guide did a fantastic job sharing little details about Chinatown, and the tea tasting with “Uncle” was fabulous fun. Then in little Italy we saw some beautiful art and had a wonderful pasta meal. I would highly recommend this tour!!

Lauren, our tour guide was great! She was very knowledgeable of the history of Chinatown and North Beach. Everything we sampled was well made. ( The Bao buns and fudge squares we had were especially delicous! )Lauren was very clearly passionate about sharing Chinatown and North Beach foods and culture with us.

What a lovely experience! The tour was informative and fun. We learned much about the history and culture of these two areas of San Fransisco - and then of course there was the food!!! Our guide Brian was knowledgeable and fun. The time spent at the Chinese tea house was especially fun.

The Best Food Tour in San Fransico
Allison_T
, May 2022
This tour allows you to sample the best food San Francisco has to offer. From the rich history that our guide, Brian shared, to the carefully selected food we partook in, each moment was a delight. We had another commitment and had to leave early. Tom, the owner, reached out to us and let us know that the next day's tour was full but they would be happy to feed us pizza and wine at the last tour stop at the end of the day. The owner went above and beyond for us. We were amazed at this act of customer service. We ate so much delicious food on this tour, easily two large meals worth. Our guide Brian was knowledgeable, personable, attentive and had a great sense of humor. Every stop was better than the last. I promise you won't be disappointed in booking this tour! It was the best!

Our tour guide, Cynthia, was awesome. We have been on 3 food tours elsewhere and this tour had, by far, the best selection of foods.

Yummy Food, History, and Fun Facts!
Nagisa_Y
, May 2022
For my birthday, my family and I drove out from the East Bay to do the walking food tour through Chinatown and North Beach. I thought it was a splurge, but for the amount of food we got, seamlessly arranged by our guided, and accompanied by her witty historical commentary, the experience was totally worth it. Even our teenage children, put down their cell phones for the duration of the tour, and wished they could have a history like Lauren, our tour guide!

, Apr 2022
Our guide was so well versed in both food and San Francisco history and tradition. She was well-spoken, fun and interesting. The food choices were very interesting and good. The Chinatown-North Beach (Italian) combination was really good. Ample food and entertainment! No one could have gone away hungry!
