Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Travel back in time when sailing on the America, a replica of the sailing ship that won the first America's Cup sailing competition in 1851. Your classic sailing vessel provides a smooth ride and spacious decks, perfect for sailing on the Pacific Ocean in search of gray whales and other marine life. Since your boat principally moves under wind power without using the engine, your captain can get closer to the marine animals without scaring them. The boat's deep keel provides excellent stability and large decks offer unobstructed views, making the America a prime vessel for whale-watching.

Snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic) are offered during the cruise. You are welcome to bring along a picnic lunch or your favorite bottle of wine to enjoy onboard.

Whale sightings are guaranteed on your cruise. If no whales are sighted, you can return for a complimentary whale watching cruise on another day in the same season. The America also provides a 'No Seasickness' guarantee.

Love it!! Will be doing it again!!

We had a great time. The staff was wonderful and informative. We saw two sightings of the same whale. They offered blankets because it was cold, chips, granola bars, soda and water were free, beer and wine only $5. One person got seasick and they were very attentive to him, offering barf buckets and napkins. They even mentioned if you think you will get seasick, let them know and they can give you something to help with it. We will be going back in December or January. Only downfall, some of the adults couldn’t follow simple directions, we were asked not to stand up while leaving the bay, and while the Captain gave safety instructions, you had to keep your phone down and pay attention, both of which adults could not do!!! He had to keep stopping until people put their phones down and had to keep telling people to sit down. Come on people, you can put your phones down and sit for 5 minutes, it’s not going to kill you!!!!

Although we didn’t see many whales, the tour was a nice way to spend a few hours at sea. The two younger team members were especially helpful and nice.

An exciting experience

We had an amazing captain and tour guide. They're very passionate and knowledgeable about whales and the surroundings. The crew went above and beyond to take care of passengers. We did this fun thing where you can help the crew hoist the sails. The whale watching itself was an amazing experience. We were able to get two sightings of a humpback. The experience was really worth the value. I would highly recommend this tour.

Such an awesome experience, the crew was amazing, down to earth, and had lots of cool facts about the area and about marine life in general. It was so cool to be on a sailboat and to see the whales we saw. Even if you don’t end up seeing that many whales, the sailboat is worth it on its own. Definitely recommend!

Best time ever on water

Everything about this Beautiful vessel brought joy to my son. The staff educated everyone on board about the history of the vessel and even educated the kiddos about whales during story time. Snacks provided to everyone with great individual attention. Even though we didn't get to see much because of the time of the year, we still get to come back for another trip free of charge. We will be back. See you soon America Crew.

Delightful Dolphins

We were able to see several different pods of Dolphins swimming with our sail boat for about 30 minutes. It was a wonderful experience to watch these beautiful creatures swim and frolic in the ocean. The crew was just as excited as we were as we witnessed so many dolphins in one area.

Beautiful trip. The boat was beautiful and the hard working for crew was amazing. While we didn’t see any whales, the time on the water was relaxing.

We saw dolphins, a few seals but unfortunately no whales. The staff was great. Make sure you bring warm layers because it did get quite cold.
