Itinerary
Stop At:
Parque Nacional da Tijuca
After your guide picks you up from your hotel in Rio, hop in an open Jeep and buckle up for a fun ride! Drive to the edge of the cityscape and enter Tijuca Forest, located just 10 minutes from the city center. You’ll hear about the important reforestation program of Tijuca National Park and learn the importance of the Mata Atlântica ecosystem — part of the vast and protected Mata Biosphere Reserve, which covers 14 states in Brazil.

Stop At:
Vista Chinesa
Get a nice perspective from the Tijuca Rainforest. At Vista Chinesa (Chinese View), capture sweeping views of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, Guanabara Bay and even as far as Niteroi. The lookout was built between 1902 and 1906. The oriental-style pagoda is a reference in honor of the Chinese who brought tea cultivation to Brazil in the early 19th century. Made of bamboo and cement, and situated 380 meters above sea level, it is an important tourist spot in the city.
Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At:
Emperor's Table
Enjoy the beautiful view of the city, as did the Royal family several times. It was at this table that Dom Pedro I, when he wanted a meal in the middle of one of the most beautiful views, would leave his residence at Quinta da Boa Vista and, with his cart, would head towards Estrada da Vista China. At an altitude of 487 meters above sea level, the Emperor's Table is set against stunning views of the city, counteracting urbanization and nature. Stairs surrounding the parapet of the area lead the tourist to the edge of a concrete ramp, making the tourist feel in the midst of a splendid setting.
Duration: 10 minutes
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Capela Mayrink
Take a short stop at this historical chapel. The little pink chapel in the middle of the woods, 460 meters above sea level, resembles a house of children's history. It was erected in 1860 by the Portuguese banker Viscount de Souto inside his farm, in Tijuca Forest. The Chapel is one of the attractions of Tijuca National Park. Adorn the altar reproductions of panels with holy images of Cândido Portinari. The gardens, as well as the Carrara marble and tiled patio tub with frowning spout, were designed by landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx.

Beautiful tour, as per the last review which says merchant is a rip off, the merchant sends a message 24 hours prior, to confirm the exact pick up time because they do several pick ups from hotels. Our guide Sergio was amazing, so friendly and so knowledgeable, you can tell that he is in his element! Gorgeous waterfall stop, I just wish we had more time at the crystal clear "lagoon", as you could swim here, maybe look for this option if they have it included in a longer tour! Beautiful forest. Bring water and sunscreen, the jeep is open top and it gets very hot until you reach the forest.

Tour operator arrived early & then blamed us for being late, despite several emails & the actual ticket showing a pick up time of 9.00am they arrived at 8.30am and said we were a “no show”. They have refused to give us any refund despite proof clearly showing 9.00am collection time!
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Dear Jane. Good afternoon. This is not correct and we have proven with emails that pick up provided was 8.30am (not 9am). we informed twice and even changed date per your request. If what you said was correct, Viator would have refunded you but it didnt because pick up was provided at 8.30am as conversation exchange through Viators Extranet.

Superb driver and guide fabulous company great value for money But little disappointed that we didn’t do the eco hike and try and spot more wildlife. Definitely not a wildlife spotting trip which was my main desire but more than made up by our excellent guide and driver

Great excursion! Perfect combination of jeep tour and 5-10 min walks/hikes through the rain forest. Waterfalls and viewpoints we were brought to were the best we saw on our entire trip. So fun!

The best thing about trip was nature in Tijuca Forest, plants and waterfalls. The very kind tourist guide and right in time pick up. The some negative feedback on the trip is small walking route, spending to much time in the car at big heat.
