Lunch

Hmm...we can’t seem to find this place. Please check the spelling, or choose another location.

8:00 AM
We also do pickups from bus stops in Reykjavík, some hotels are located within a traffic restricted area and you would need to meet us at a nearby bus stop. For the list of bus stops, go to www.busstop.is. We do pickups at bus stop #1 and bus stops #3 to bus stop #14 (NOT bus stop #2).
After hotel pickup in Reykjavík in the morning, board your Mercedes Benz Sprinter—a luxury minibus equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi. Meet your experienced guide who shares information about each location you visit during this full-day itinerary along Iceland’s stunning south coast.

This scenic trip includes a stop at two waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Snap photos of Sólheimajökull glacier and Eyjafjallajökull volcano, and search for puffins along the black-sand beaches of Reynisfjara.

En route, get a taste of traditional Icelandic snacks: smoked lamb on flatbread accompanied by a typical beverage. There is also a stop for lunch before drop-off back at your hotel.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Seljalandsfoss
The famous waterfall one you can walk behind. Be careful you might get wet :) This unique waterfall flows from the infamous glacier Eyjafjallajökull, the molten-syllables-which nobody can pronounce good for nothing volcanic glacier that stopped all the air traffic over the North-Atlantic back in 2010. At Seljalandsfoss there are restrooms, a food stall and a small gift shop. The restrooms are free of charge. NOTE:
Duration: 45 minutes
Admission Ticket Free
Stop At:
Skogafoss
An archetypal waterfall, Skógafoss is one of the most beautiful and tallest waterfalls in Iceland. There is a staircase leading to a viewing platform for the waterfall and surrounding areas. The platform gives you an expansive view of the south coast, Eyjafjallajökull and Skógafoss. NOTE: the restrooms are behind a paywall and entry costs ISK 200 / USD 2.
Duration: 40 minutes
Admission Ticket Free
Stop At:
Solheimajokull Glacier
Sólheimajökull is a glacier tongue, an offshoot off of the main body of Mýrdalsjökull glacier. We walk towards Sólheimajökull, through the valley it has carved out of the mountain scape and along the glacier river it forms at its base. The valley is a chaotic collection of rocks, gravel and sand which the tongue ground down as it passed over the land. The glacier is unlike others as it is striped with layers of ash crushed between seasonal layers of ice, but the glacier is surrounded by multiple active volcanic stations. NOTE: the restrooms are behind a paywall and entry costs ISK 300 / USD 2.5, they accept credit cards.
Duration: 45 minutes
Admission Ticket Free
Stop At:
Reynisfjara Beach
Reynisfjara, or the Black Sand Beach, is truly a natural marvel. The site offers beautiful basalt columns, a natural arc viewed from afar, troll-like sea stacks and during the summer season there are thousands of puffins which make the cliffs of the Black Sand Beach their home. We do both sightseeing and the lunch break there. The restaurant overlooks the South Coast and offers bites suitable for any palate and diet. Restrooms are free for customers.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Stop At:
Vik
A short photo stop at the photogenic village of Vík. We stop by the town's church where the troll-like basalt stacks and the village provide the perfect background for a selfie :D
Duration: 15 minutes

Good tour, good guide
Ralph_H

The guide Giusti was excellent and we saw lots of amazing sights, including ones not on the official itinerary and we had plenty of time at each location. If if I had any criticism, the bus is in reality too small for a 10 hour trip if it is full. I was fortunate in getting the jump seat, having originally been squeezed in next to someone which would have been intolerable for 400km.

It was brilliant… the tour guide Gusti was fantastic and had a wealth of knowledge even went the extra mile to show us additional landmarks.

I can’t believe that Iceland just has these amazing spots in their country, but they do, and as someone who doesn’t drive this tour was the best way for me to some of these spot. Perfect for solo traveler.

We had a phenomenal time. Our guide, Baldwin, was knowledgeable and helpful. Admittedly, the bus was a little cramped, but the sights were unbeatable and we didn't feel rushed to leave at any point. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Fabulous black sand shore

Black sand shore was breathtaking. The walk behind the water fall was unique, difficult in part & such fun!

Dear Alexandra, We are a little bit confused. While we are glad to hear that the experience was breathtaking and fun we are sad to see it only given 3 out of 5 stars. Which is seemingly inconsistent with your description of the tour. In any case, if you found anything lacking with our service or the experience we provide, we would be very keen to make it up to you in any way we can. Hopefully you will consider us again in the future! Best wishes, Magnús

Seeing Iceland in Depth!
Christina_M
, May 2022
Benny’s incredible knowledge of Icelandic history, European history, local anecdotes - he’s so intelligent, really enriched the experience. He knows so much about volcanic and seismic activity - made Iceland come alive! Only drawback was pop music on bus on the way back, but that’s just me maybe. 😀👏
