Departure Point

43X5+7C9, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland

We meet up at Ingolfstorg Square in the center of Reykjavik by the two stone high seat pillars (Over 2 meters high), The square is at the beginning of Austurstræti (Austurstræti 1) and is squared off by the streets Aðalstræti, Hafnarstræti, Veltusund, and Vallarstræti. If you walk down Laugavegur (The main shopping street) please just continue all the way down until you come to the square always walking straight down until you can't continue further. On the Ingolfur square itself, you can see Kvosin a small grocery market and finally Center Hotel Plaza. We recommend for people to use Google Maps or something similiar because the Icelandic street names can be tricky :).

This was a great tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and taught us so much about the area and the Sagas that are from Icelandic culture.

We had a personalized tour with Stefan (no one else signed up) and felt in no way that he skimped on the details. He was a wealth of historical information, told with humor and what I would call an Icelandic nonchalance. Great intro to Reykjavik and highly recommended for your first day!

Great overview starting point to Reykjavik

This was a LONG tour, about three hours. Be prepared to walk. This was our first tour walk right after landing into KEF so add that to the exhaustion but…the walk was very educational. Your Friend in Reykjavik your guides really feel intimate and personal and they give you the tour as if you’re with a long time friend. This walking tour familiarizes you with the city so it’s a good idea to do on Day 1.

Great tour on beautiful sunny day. Despite being jet-lagged our guide kept it interesting and informative enough to keep us going.

Great Start To Our Visit to Iceland

Our group enjoyed the walking tour. It was a great way for us to see Reykjavik and learn a bit of the history. It quickly familiarized us with different locations and showed us places we wanted to visit after our tour for food and shopping. It was a bit of walking but the pace was good. The one downside to our tour was we spent time trying to meet up with one other person that was to join tour. Our guide was trying to accommodate them so we backtracked and eventually gave up when the person was not there. This extended our tour about 20 minutes over. Grateful for having the full complete tour it just meant we had to get to our next event with no time for lunch.
