Begin your full-day tour with pickup from your hotel in the Reykjavik area between 830am and 9am. Meet your guide and small group of no more than 19, and settle inside your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Then, set out into Iceland’s stark countryside on your 11-hour tour. On route, listen to intriguing facts about the country, hearing about its history, geology, and culture from your guide.

Head into UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, one of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle sights. Learn how it lies within a belt of volcanic activity, and is home to the mid-Atlantic ridge, where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia face each other over a valley. Walk between the plates as you hear how they are gradually moving further apart, and savor the experience of straddling the two continents.

Take a detour from the Golden Circle to visit the Kerid (Kerið) crater, a 3,000-year-old crater filled with a lake. Peer into the 180-foot (55-meter) deep hollow, and admire the magical-looking blue lake cradled by the red- and green-colored slopes.

Visit the Geysir geothermal area, exploring the surreal-looking landscapes on foot. View the bubbling ponds and steam vents, and see the Geysir and Strokkur geysers, the latter shooting water up to 98 feet (30 meters) every five to 10 minutes.

Stop at the Gulfoss Waterfall, taking in this beautiful 105-foot (32-meter) fall, and then continue to Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by lava-sculpted countryside.

Head inside (own expense, with pre-booking of your admission ticket required) and change into your bathing suit. Then, enjoy a long soak in the warm, therapeutic waters, lying back in the steam and admiring the lava fields as you bathe.

After about two hours here, your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off in Reykjavik.

More time please but worth

Fantastic tour, it’s an actual must in Iceland. The only issue was, how much time we had at certain place, now I understand that to things moving but I could have had an extra hour or two at the blue lagoon, especially as book a table, as I heard the food at the blue lagoon was worth the price (plus I got i think as least two extra face masks), but by the time everyone had checked in, got changed etc, put it this way I didn’t get to have all the masks I paid for nor did I get to eat at the restaurant. You do have the choice to stay there longer and get a taxi back, and I almost did, along side a few people I had met on the tour, but we figured it was be easier plus cheaper to go back everyone else.

Our guide was fantastic! A local man who knew all the stories, history and even able to answer odd questions! We had the most amazing day. All the sights and a few extras thrown in! We saw newborn lambs and one being born, we fed horses. Enough time to explore the stop offs, which were just phenomenal. Iceland is truly beautiful and wonderful. Thank you so much, will never forget it!

One of the best trips I had! The trip guide was very friendly and made the trip enjoyable and fun. I was a solo traveler so felt a bit unsure about what to expect as it was a new experience to me. I really enjoyed the trip and highly recommend it

Stay on time to get extra stops

This tour is operated by Nice Travel on a minibus with no more than 19 people. The bus is really comfy with USB chargers. We were collected on time from a bus stop near our hotel in the centre of Reykjavik and all information was sent days before we travelled. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the first settlers and geography of the area which he presented whilst driving between each stop. The whole day went really quickly but we didn’t feel rushed at any of the stops and were free to explore in our family group. If you stay on time then you get lots of extra stops. Our extra stops included a lake where rye bread was cooking in the ground and the water was bubbling up from the ground, a dairy farm serving delicious ice cream and coffees, a few quick viewpoints, Icelandic ponies, a detour past the tomato farm and a drive over bridges crossing the crystal clear river flowing from the Selfoss Waterfall. Tips- take a packed lunch. Food is very expensive in Iceland and the cafes at the main locations get really busy which reduces the time you have to see the geography. We had a picnic on a bench watching the geyser which was awesome as we saw it go up a dozen times. (Sometimes twice in a row so keep your camera out) Follow the instructions to condition your hair at the blue lagoon! We put a little on and our hair was full of minerals for days after. Rinse and shampoo 2/3 times when you get out of the water and put conditioner on overnight. The silica doesn’t damage your hair but makes it feel really dry and difficult to brush. We took children ages 6 and 9. They were well entertained for the day and enjoyed every moment. Thank you for a memorable day through a magical landscape.

Excellent driver/tour guide. Addi (?) from Nice Tours on April 13/22. Pleasant, knowledgeable, provided enough time at each stop so we never felt rushed. High energy for what must be a long day for him. Their buses are smaller vans and very comfortable and clean.
