Cotopaxi Full-Day from Quito including entrances

We had the best time on this tour! Our guide was very helpful with activities to do in Ecuador during our long ride to the volcano. The volcano was beautiful and definitely worth the climb!

This tour was absolutely amazing. We booked for Christmas and ended up having a private tour since there we no other people signed up. Mauro was an excellent guide with lots of knowledge about Quito, the park, and other areas of Ecuador we are traveling to. Hiking over to the glacier was amazing and with just three of us total, we were able to move pretty quickly which was lovely. The weather was perfect and we could see almost every volcano in the avenue. We were a bit confused because in the tour description it says lunch is included, but in the “what to expect” it said no meals included. We messaged to confirm and brought snacks to make up for the lack of included meals. We did end up getting lunch at the cafeteria near the end of the tour and it was delicious for $5 each meal. We would without a doubt book this trip again. This was our fifth day in Quito with a few other days of hiking prior which really helped for the altitude. This is NOT a first day at high altitude excursion.

Really fun day! Marco was a wonderful guide and very good with explaining the Cotopaxi volcano and so many other interesting things about Ecuador. The scenery is so beautiful! The hike to the Cotopaxi base camp is tough only because of the altitude. But it’s worth the effort. Loved it!

Francisco is a very good guide. The hiking was great as Cotopaxi was mostly clear of clouds and no wind while we were there.

Our guide Erica and driver were great. Extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The views all day were gr8 from lookout in South Quito on way up to Cotopaxi and from the lake. Wonderful late lunch/early dinner at local restaurant that had beautiful views of Cotopaxi. See a wolf in wild was also a special event.

We really enjoyed visiting add hiking Cotopaxi however this tour was the most poorly planned tour among many that we went on during our 25 day vacation in Ecuador. I will start with the positives first. The tour guide was very nice with good English skills, very patient and kept with everyone's pace. The major problem we had was the timeline and not a having clear information on when lunch was going to be served. We started the tour around 6:30 and after everyone was picked up we stopped for breakfast around 7:30 on the way to Cotopaxi. However we didn't get to sit down until a little past 4pm for lunch. By then so many of us were starving, getting lightheaded after a long and active day without knowing exactly when the lunch time was going to be assuming lunch would have been served around lunch time. And then we were notified that we had to pay for lunch separately which wasn't clearly mentioned in the itinerary. No snacks or drinks were served on the bus and we weren't told how late we were going to eat lunch, so we could have packed or bought something to snack on. Planning and clear communication is essential for tour companies. This was our first tour and we took many other ones during our stay and everything was clearly disclosed with us and all day tours covered lunch and snacks on time and everything was well planned. I understand eating is not a big part of sight seeing, but at least for us and some other tourists that day having starved for so long and not getting clear information on the food part of the trip definitely lowered the experience for us, especially after learning how well other tour companies handled this issue

We had an amazing tour guide. Her name was Irene. She was very funny, knowledgeable and professional. My most memorable experience was when I reached the refuge of Cotopaxi.

What an amazing experience! Cotopaxi park itself is incredible and worthy of a million photos, not to mention the volcano itself. Be prepared for windy and chilly weather (hats and gloves are much appreciated), with rain on and off, but the weather changes often. I'd recommend hiking poles, and real hiking boots are a must. Take your time, your guide will be great and patient with you, so don't feel bad if you don't make it up all the way (we didn't), take lots of pictures, and enjoy yourselves. You've earned the stop on the way back for a nice meal and a little canelazo with some homemade moonshine! Ask for Francisco as a guide, he was incredible with us.

Great guide, awesome trek, and amazing scenery. Would recomended if you're looking for a good challenge while visiting Quito!
