Nice, but touristic

Very touristic. Short presentation of how coffee, cocoa and coconut oil are made, then to the monkeys. The monkeys are not from the island (there are no monkeys on the island), but they are very cute and friendly. The trip to this place is nice also, going through villages and up the hills.

From beginning to end, this was an excellent adventure! The hotel pickup was right on time, and our guide Carlos was fantastic. Funny and lots of fun on the way to the site. Once we arrived we learned a lot about the making of the local coffee, chocolate, and mama juana (the Dominica drink of choice). Yes, it was all in an effort to sell you things, but we didn't feel we were being ripped off and that they were fair prices. The monkeys themselves were SO much fun. The staff gives you bowls of food to hold to get them to climb all over you, which is perfect for hysterical photo ops. And being in the mountains, the scenery was spectacular. The tours was very well organized and ran like clockwork. We'd highly recommend this one!

This was an AMAZING experience. The guides where friendly. The monkeys seemed to be very well cared for. They were all clean and VERY friendly. You are required to sanitize your hands and shoes before entering the enclosure. As an animal lover I was impressed by the care taken to keep the animals safe and in good health. The monkeys are all over, jumping and climbing on everyone. Everyone gets multiple bowls of food, you will get lots of time interacting with the monkeys. There are also many photo opportunities. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
