Some hiccups but overall it was fun!

There was some confusion on where to pick us up (there's a hotel and neighborhood called Villas Bavaro). When we got to the pickup location we sent a whatsapp with our location. The tour bus was not nearby and it was pouring down rain. The owner of the tour company went out of the way to pick our soggy selves up and bring us to the ranch. On the sketch scale it was a bit sketch to be picked up by something we didn't expect but we got there safely and at the end of the night we were able to take the safari bus back to our neighborhood. I was travleing with a barely three year old in the dune buggy. I did not feel comfortable with her in her own seat, but I felt that she was safe in her carrier buckled in with me. The guide was concientious of her on the tour and kept a close eye on us. She love it though and kept yelling faster! ABout a block out from the ranch, our buggy broke down. .They got it restarted and then it broke down again. We ended up taking an ATV from break down spot to the first stop. The stop was informative and the host was great. They gave free samples of some of the products that were so good! By the time were were done there the dune buggy was back up and running and worked the rest of the trip. We stopped at the cave briefly. That felt rushed and it's not lit up like the pictures I've seen. I had time to jump in twice before we were leaving again. The water is refreshing but dark. On the way to macoa beach we got so dirty in the giant puddles (more like ponds). It had downpoured the first half of the day so everything was muddy and flooded which made it more fun. Macao beach was magnificent. We'd been going to beaches near Bavaro, but they don't compare the the scenery at macoa beach. That was probably my favorite part of the tour.

BOOKED through Viator however Did not receive any communication from tour operator prior to day of tour. At 9:15 AM on day of tour, we received two different reservation information texts giving us pick up time and vehicle descriptions. Our pick up time was 1:20 Pm with tour to begin at 2:30 PM. At approximately 1:35 PM ( now 15 minutes late) The vehicle finally showed up. The driver looked at our confirmation and said we were not the right group and left. After another 15 minutes, we texted tour operator to see if they were on their way. We Did not receive an immediate response. Because we were out of our home country and no cell service, We had the hotel try to call tour operator however they did not answer. After texting that we were going to cancel and demand a full refund if we didn’t hear back by 2PM, We finally received a response at 2:01 PM stating they were on their way and gave us some excuse that did not make sense. At this point we had lost confidence in this tour operator and requested to cancel and receive a full refund. The tour operator tried to convince us that it was not possible to cancel at this point because they had to pre-pay for the vehicles upfront. We started that we were not comfortable going with them and insisted on a full refund. Ultimately we did end up getting a full refund however it was not until sending another request the next day stating we were going to contact. This whole process was very frustrating and disappointing because we didn’t get to go on the excursion. The tour operator name from from texts is thomstoursDR@gmail.com

POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS Dear customer, it would be impossible to give you the service if the weather conditions do not help us. Our advertising has never been false, we are honest and transparent with our clients. We want you to understand that this can happen. Thank you very much for your comment.

Short Buggy Drive Time & Too Many Stops
Shera_H
, Sep 2021
Tour wasn't what we expected. Short Buggy Drive time & Too many stops for customers to shop. Local people will pop out of no where and place a Reptile on your shoulder or head and expect money. We had to run off several. The bottle water available is warm and you will have to pay for soda. We got great photos and laughs but for the cost it was average.

Dear Customer Thank you very much for your comment. as for compulsive salespeople, it is something that gets out of our hands. they are everywhere, please prepare yourself mentally. As for the cost of the animals when they put it on their heads, it is not our fault, all our visitors must be careful that someone puts an animal for photos, be careful, sometimes they pretend to charge a lot of money.

Don’t waste your time or money

Getting dirty and being with the family was great and Carlos was super nice and energetic. The actual ride isn’t that long because of the stops were people are trying to rape your pockets with their ridiculous prices. They literally hassle you and are mad aggressive. They even harass you and ask for the shoes off your feet. The icing on the cake for me was when we stopped at the beach and I went to use the restroom. There is a lady sitting at the door with a bucket of pre-rolled toilet paper and she charges $1 for literally enough for 1 wipe. Then when you finish using the bathroom there is no running water or soap to wash your hands. I’ve never been so baffled and disgusted in my life!!!!

Awesome tour guides and lots of fun getting muddy!

The trip was fun but seeing the starving dogs and small Children begging for money at every turn really made me bummed. Also there are solicitors and vendors that absolutely bombard you at the cave stop making you uncomfortable. All of that aside, the buggy's are super fun and the tour leads are all awesome. I recommend this company. I know the children and dogs are something they cannot control.

Distinguished Sir, It is important to all customers who acquire this activity, Our company is not to blame that there are children begging on the streets, nor can we control compulsive sellers. we express it in all briffings. Many Thanks for the review.

We loved traveling the countryside and getting muddy. The coffee “plantation” wasn’t what I was expecting but it was still really cool. Our tour guide was helpful. They had multiple guides to help if there were any issues, they made sure we didn’t get harassed and we really enjoyed it. Make sure to bring a swimsuit and be prepared to get dirty

If you like mud this is for you. The buggies get more muddy than the ATVs so you have the choice whether to be super muddy or slightly muddy. It was really fun overall and Charlie was a great tour guide:) make sure you bring glasses and something to cover your mouth.
