Communication was poor

We were supposed to go on a Dune Buggy tour first thing in the morning of 12 Jan 2022. First, the tour put us on the wrong bus and because of that, we missed our slotted time. They say we can come back for the later one, no problem, they'll pick us up at the resort lobby at 10:50am. So we are at the lobby hanging out, then stand out front of the lobby 10 minutes prior to the pickup time. Guess who's not there at the pick up time? I email the tour director, like yo, wtf? They say he's there, we say he's not. Blah blah blah. Finally dude shows up, but he makes no indication he's looking for us, he picks up other guests, doesn't act like he's looking for anyone else and leaves. Tour director calls multiple times and we're like we're where we're supposed to be. Guy comes back again, doesn't yell out my name (they have it), just yells out "boogies" doesn't approach us to ask, because we're apparently just supposed to assume he's there for us I guess? Like there's no other businesses doing Dune Buggy tours on this island? Finally we approach him because now he does look like he's looking for someone, and we're like are you looking for Jennifer? Very annoyed he says "yes, I've been yelling 'boogies, boogies'". Yeah, k. That don't mean anything friend 🙄😒 Ok so we're FINALLY getting to where we need to go! We get to the location, my partner has his "boogie" I have mine, awesome we're off! Guess what happens not even 5 minutes down the damn road? My "boogie" dies, and the tour just leaves me on the side of a rural road in east podunk nowhere Punta Cana. I'm now surrounded by a bunch of local children who don't speak English and I no hablo Español. Fantastic. Finally another group passes me and they radio back to the main building and send someone to try to fix the Buggy. Long story made a little shorter, they don't get it fixed, they finally send me a Gator to catch up to the rest of the group at the 1st stop which was a plantation (I didn't miss too much apparently), guy meets me out front to bring me to the rest of the group saying "your husband was very worried about you!" (everyone just assumes we're married when we're together) and I'm like, he's probably pissed! Meet up with him finally and the rest of the tour went fine. I'd love to do it again (maybe not with that company and their broken down equipment and severe lack of communication) it was a lot of fun in spite of all the trouble and we got some great pictures and a crazy story out of it.

Awesome Excursion

This excursion was Awesome!!! You’re almost guarantee to have some type of issue with the boogie but because of the rugged roads they maintain well. It was a group of 6 and all 3 carts broke down at some point but they got you right back going. We didn’t know to bring our swimsuits and water shoes because you’re swimming in the cave and going to the beach. I loved this tour!!

Best vehicles. Great fun.

Loved the buggies. Definitely use this company as all their vehicles are top notch. Most of the other companies vehicles looked like old style go-carts. One note: bring aqua shoes or sandals that can go in and out of water. Exiting the tour, walking through picture zone and finding our ride home was very chaotic process hence the four out of five stars.

Good and got better

Started off a little rocky, as the tour operator has limited hours (and unclear what those hours are) so it was hard to confirm. Then they picked us up an hour late and we ended up with another group. Adventure Boogies starts off by pushing you into the store and trying to sell, nothing is priced out and they simply say they will “get a good deal”. So just know what you might want from your resort, cut the cost in half and they will likely take it. We just got a hat for $15 vs the $30 at the resort, but they suggested $45 which is ridiculous. They will ask you to rent goggles and a scarf. Sunglasses and a basic COVID mask worked just fine for us so I wouldn’t waste money on them. First part of the ride is concrete and boring as hell. You stop at the village where you get to see a tribal dance and then drink coffee, which they have several things for sale. We didn’t buy anything. Then you walk to an underground pool and take a dip. Very pleasant but relatively short (10 mins). Then you ride to the beach, this time there are plenty of watery/muddy puddles to get dirty, and we wish we brought a garbage bag to protect our travel bag. You don’t get caked all over in mud but plenty of splatter. The beach is OK, but also a short 10 minutes. Will push birds and monkeys and all sorts of trinkets for you to buy. They are polite when you say no but still limits how much you can enjoy. Ride back mainly same route so plenty of room to splatter. So this is a good time if you want to change drivers so both can experience it. They do have showers to rinse off at the end. The buggies are somewhat held together by duct tape and bubblegum and 3-4 of our 20-25 vehicles did break down along the way. I believe they either fixed them right away or had someone following to swap it out. If you are ok pushing away street vendors, this was well worth the $$ and we had fun.

Fun trip!

My husband and I booked this adventure. Riding in the dune buggies through the mud was great fun! The stop for coffee, cigars and cenote is certainly a bit touristy. Would have loved more time at the cenote. The next stop at Macao beach was incredible - the best beach we went to on our vacation! Again, wish we had more than 15-20 minutes. BE ADVISED: 1) I still cannot get the mud stains out of my clothes worn on the adventure, so plan accordingly with your wardrobe. 2) Children wait by the roadside, seeking money or food. Overall, I would recommend this adventure - great service, good price!

Good short experience. Great if you haven't driven a machine and want to try

It was a short experience wished we had more driving off road time. The standard buggy is older. I was told by someone who had driven a Cam Am had to pay an uncharge for that. We spent a lot of time driving on the road to get to places. The first stop was an adventure park where we visited the Cenote. the action shots were taken at this park and we drove through a manmade section where it was flooded with water to capture the image seen here. We stayed a very long time at this park watched a tribal show and then followed by chocolate and coffee sampling which is followed by more sales. Then off to the cenote which is located in this park. That cave looks curated and almost unnatural. The offroad time itself was extremely short. We went through a small stretch of what looks like a plantation road. The ride was maybe only 1/2 mile and we made a turn around

The buggies were great! We got super muddy and the showers after got us back to clean. The performances were a hoot and had us smiling clapping and laughing. Over all it was a fun fulled event and we were back in time for dinner.
