Pompei Ruins & Horseback riding on Vesuvius with Lunch!

The day kept getting better and better awesome historical tour, fresh and delicious pasta lunch, great wine, and one of the most amazing horseback rides in the vineyards with wonderful views ! Giuseppe was especially amazing as a guide! Our experience was wonderful

Honestly, as a group of eight -- two families, two children each -- we had a fabulous day from start to finish. It started with the charming Giuseppe greeting us and quickly bringing us to the horse stables to begin one of the most beautiful horseback rides any of us have had in our extensive international travels. The lunch at the local winery was delightful (as was the wine!). And an informational tour with the lovely Lalla at Pompeii perfectly ended our day. Our kiddos -- ages 6, 9, 10 and 12 -- remained engaged and enthralled throughout the day (and despite the heat)! We didn't have any delays... and everything was delicious. We're not kidding when we say we were unanimously delighted. Final thought: we know this tour may be a bit more expensive than some of the other options, but trust us when we write that the cost is worth the convenience and quality. A beautiful experience for our crew, and we're grateful to all the people -- Giuseppe, Lalla, the folks at the winery and many others -- who made this all possible. Grazie. Enjoy, fellow travelers!

Such a fun experience! Gennaro’s enthusiasm was infectious and his brother Giuseppe’s kind and gentle demeanor was appreciated. Our itinerary was flipped around due to the best plan to avoid crowds and it was a brilliant idea. We rode horses through the vineyard first and had a lot fun. The horse farm is very charming, clean, and the horses all seem very well cared for. Giuseppe offered us lots of cold water and an espresso - both very much appreciated. Gennaro drove us in their brand new van to a gorgeous winery for the wine tasting and lunch. Six wines and very tasty and plentiful food. A lovely respite. We enjoyed the olive oil, vinegar, and a few of the wines enough to arrange for shipment home to the States. We were then driven to meet our tour guide Manuela for a private tour of Pompeii. The crowds were mostly gone so our tour moved swiftly. Manuela was friendly and very knowledgeable. It was an enjoyable introduction to the history of Pompeii. All in all I would definitely recommend this excursion while visiting Sorrento or the surrounding area.

This was the BEST day. A perfect mix of history, luxury wine tasting and lunch and horse back riding through beautiful vineyards. What more could you ask for. Bring water though!

Highly recommended! Best way to cover everything. My wife and I were hesitant to spend a good part of our day on a tour but are glad we did. Starting in Pompeii, the communication was great and easy to find our guide. Our tour guide “Tony” is a 3rd generation archeologist at Pompeii with knowledge that had other people not with us listening in. He covered most if not all of the major parts and was very funny. When the tour needed the transportation to the winery was right there when we finished, no waiting. Took us to this beautiful winery with amazing views. The host there was very informative about the land and wines. The meal was filling and delicious but most of all the wines oil and vinegar were the best we’ve had in Italy. Following the winery we were taken to the stables where we met with our instructor who was really really great. She greeted us, prepped us for the ride, then took us along the most beautiful horseback ride. We traveled through vineyards, fruit trees, and alive trees around Mt.Vesuvius on healthy, kind, and amazing horses. Stopped for photo opportunities and a snack of apricots. English was easily understood on all parts even our transportation driver was kind and very informative of the region. Sorry for the long explanation but couldn’t recommend every part of this tour any other way. This really made our trip.

This started with great 2 hour tour of Pompeii with a very knowledgeable guide on a very hot day! We were disappointed to travel in a non air conditioned van to the winery but thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine provided! Everything was fresh and delicious! The air issue was remedied quickly on our trip to horseback riding which was much appreciated! Our guide Giuseppe was phenomenal and went above and beyond to make this nervous rider feel right at home! The views were incredible and the borders were beautiful and very well trained. Thank for a wonderful day!!

Amazing experience! The people are kind and helpful, we had trouble with taxis and getting to Naples and they helped us a ton. Really made the entire experience enjoyable safe feeling. 10/10 recommend!

Wonderful day in Pompeii. We hired an expensive car from Rome to Pompeii, but took the Trenitalia (train) back and was far less expensive, faster and easy to use. The Pompeii guide was remarkable on this hot day, and showed and explained the best parts of Pompeii. The lunch and wine tasting at Russo Vineyard was fabulous and felt like family. Finally, our horseback ride through fields of vineyards at the foothills of Vesuvius was magical; be sure to wear a lot of sunscreen and have a hat on this tour. It is dusty but worth it!

We had an amazing tour guide (Manuela) who was very knowledgeable and gave us time to take pictures and ask questions. She helped direct us to the vans that took us to our wine tasting and lunch which was done very nicely and the food was great. We were then taken to the stables via van to tour around the vineyards from which their house wines were made from. They made sure everyone was comfortable with their horse and continued to guide those even after we were out and about. This was a great set of tours and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a day in Pompeii activity!

Magnificent guide in Pompeii! Afterwards there was a really good wine tasting rounded off with a great horse back ride. The guides were really funny and we had a great day!
