Returns to original departure point
After hotel pickup in the Phoenix metro area, including Scottsdale and Mesa, get comfortable in your luxury van for the drive to Grand Canyon National Park. Make a photo stop along Route 66 where you can stretch your legs and snap views of this historic highway.

Reaching your destination at the South Rim, the crown jewel of your day trip begins with your Grand Canyon helicopter tour. Board a state-of-the-art chopper for a safety briefing, then buckle up for the scenic flight, following the Colorado River toward the canyon’s eastern end. Your pilot soars above the Kaibab National Forest and through the Dragon Corridor—the widest and deepest part of this incredible natural wonder.

Upon landing, soak up more scenery at a lookout point. After, relax on a driving tour of the rim as you snap photos and learn about the Grand Canyon's natural history.

After ample time at the national park, you’re driven back to Phoenix.
Itinerary
Pass By:
Route 66
After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
Stop At:
Williams Depot
Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion. While you are enjoying Route 66, your guide will pick up your picnic lunch made fresh that morning.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At:

You will have opportunities to walk the rim, shop, capture an unlimited number of photographs, or relax with the best seat in the house.

This whole trip was amazing! Our tour guide Dan had alot of knowledge of the entire state of Arizona and our surroundings. Dan is the man! The helicopter ride was truly a lifetime experience and the best way to see the grand canyon for three first time.

Our guide was awesome - friendly, funny, personable, and helpful. The ride was comfortable, and we really enjoyed the Route 66 stop. The helicopter trip was so much fun, and we still had plenty of time on foot at the canyon.

I have been to the Grand Canyon before but seeing it by helicopter is an entirely different experience. Took my 16 year old granddaughter and it will be an experience she will remember for a lifetime

Helicopter was great - ground tour not so much!

The helicopter tour was great! Vern really was great in the helicopter and being able to see the rivers was amazing. Our driving portion was subpar - Steve did not really know things for sure and never told us when we should get something to eat. Most people ate while we were on the helicopter and we were left with 5 minutes to grab snacks. It was a long day. Without the helicopter we would have been very disappointed.

Wonderful experience! Our tour guide was so friendly and provided a lot of facts that we wouldn’t have otherwise known. He was a good driver and gave us enough stops to use the restroom and eat. It’s very convenient that you get picked up right at your hotel! Helicopter ride was incredible! From the air, the canyon is indescribable and I’m so glad we decided to pay for it. If you get motion sick, take medicine beforehand. I did, and still felt sick on the helicopter. But the views were worth it.

I couldn’t have asked for a better Grand Canyon Tour!! Our guide, Jason, very informative and patient. Our pilot, Jesse, amazing. We weren’t cheated out of the helicopter experience, at all. We got our full 45 mins and he educated us throughout the flight. You really get to see so much more of the canyon with the helicopter. So if you can, do it!! Would definitely book with them again.

Toured on 5/29/21. This was a great experience and highly recommended. So glad I included the helicopter tour. It was an unbelievable experience. Maverick Helicopter was well organized. Jeffery was our ground tour guide. He was excellent. He definitely has patience. There was always someone(s) returning to the van late at EVERY stop. It still amazes me how people can be so disrespectful for another person’s time. Plan for a long day, sit back and enjoy.

As long as we get a refund for the helicopter since it was too windy- It was a memorable trip! Long ride though. Our tour guide, Jennifer was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot.
