Great half day canal tour

Edwin was a superb tour guide. Very knowledgeable and made his commentary unique to the moment by telling stories about the things we saw - in other words, he was authentic and not scripted. He moved between English and Spanish frequently and seamlessly. For people with mobility issues, this might be a difficult tour. There aren’t enough seats for everyone on the boat, and once someone claims a seat, they use handbags and other things to “reserve” it even when they aren’t sitting in it. The families with small children were struggling to keep them occupied once the novelty of the boat ride and going through the first lock wore off. I was surprised to see so much wildlife - Edwin spied a crocodile in the canal, our driver, Kenny, stopped along the road to shoo along a slow moving iguana and again to point out a sloth making its way into the forest. And for bird watchers, the pelicans are especially fascinating.

Short term cancellation, in transparent communication

I did never end up going on a tour with this operator. A day before the tour, well beyond the 24 hour cancellation deadline, the two operator notified me upon me contacting him that he would not run the tour. I really had a hard time to get them refund my money, because they were trying to make a different arrangement with me communication was not transparent. I don’t think this is a serious way of making business. If they know that they will cancel, they should at least tell one so early in advance, that I can make alternative arrangements for a different tour.

Excellent tour. Very well organized. Comfortable for all ages. The yacht has excellent seating and deck space. Food is served on a table in comfort. Great value for the cost and time. You can actually see the gates closing snd your boat rising up to new levels!

Panama Canal Tour was one of the best tours I have ever experienced. The tour guide was VERY knowledge and continually kept everyone advised of key aspects of the canal including its construction, number of people involved with the construction, current ongoing canal operations, expansion project, and geographic surroundings. The lunch served was also exceptionally good. Boarding on and off and serving lunch were well managed by the crew.

The tour met or exceeded my expectations. English speaking guide was very good, as was the food. Only less than positive was the driving attitude of our van driver on the return trip. One of the passengers in our van felt compelled to "dress down" the driver on how he was inappropriately interacting with the other vehicles on the road.

Excellent tour. Gus was knowledgeable and terrific. Food was OK but staff was courteous and helpful. The Pacific Queen was a comfortable vessel and there were good observation areas on all decks. We had wanted to do the full transit but agree with other reviewers that the partial transit was all the experience we needed. We didn’t need the longer time in the canal nor did we need the longer ride back to Panama City after what would have been a longer day.

The partial transit was fantastic. We love the canal and the engineering marvel it is. Our guide, Gus, was a fount of great information (and a few bad jokes). The food was good and the lines for getting the food, as well as exiting the boat, were well organized. Our only complaint is that communications prior to the tour said we would be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. We were not, so getting out to the marina added logistics and cost. Once we did arrive at the marina though, everything was great.

Picked up at our hotel and transferred to the marina to board the tour boat. About 200 people but there were lots of seats and lots of viewing spots. Really interesting experience in a smaller vessel. Good breakfast and lunch served on the northbound, morning tour. Would recommend to anyone.

Great 1/2 day (6 hr) tour of the canal. You get to see the inner workings and understand the operation of the system. I would not recommend kids. This tour is a long duration on the boat with plenty of "down time". Great tour company, great accommodations and a great tour.

A truly amazing wonderful engineering marvel, we both thoroughly enjoyed the day, it was quite an honour to be on the canal itself, sharing it with a huge ship heading North. Gus our guide was fantastic as were the other staff members, the breakfast and lunch was very good. An incredible day travelling on what I can only say was a privilege, as a kid at school learnt about the Panama Canal and its importance to the whole world of shipping but never considered that my husband and I would actually see it, let alone travel on it. Strongly suggest you go to the Museum in Casco Veijo to learn about the history you will not be disappointed we were in there for about 2 hours. Pick up/drop off was covered and the Pacific Queen was our beautiful transport for the day. Gus our guide was excellent, very informative and all staff were very pleasant. Breakfast and lunch was very good.Well worth the money. Only advise it is a long time on the boat and not really suitable for small children. Thank you from - A & M from Australia
