Some of the almost 50 permanent exhibits feature human origins and culture, mammals, dinosaur fossils, Earth and the other planets, plus biodiversity and the environment. Using Viator (3rd party vendor) was a waste of $. Is worthless for you still have to make 2 lines (to gain entrance & to obtain tickets). We walked away and waste 4 prepaid admissions.

Better Get there Early!

Although I purchased tickets ahead of time through Viator, I was still told I had to go through the whole process again when we arrived, as well as choose an allotted time. Not knowing what to expect, I booked a late flight out that day. However, there were hundreds upon hundreds of people waiting to get in. With it being 85 degrees and not wanting to miss my flight, I skipped the museum along with losing my money.

Complicated

Complicated. Not only do you need a ticket but you have to go to the museums website and pick a time to go. Lots of exhibits were closed. The ones we viewed were neat.

Start on the 4th floor and work your way down. The dinosaurs were amazing! We had a great time and my kids and husband were equally impressed and interested throughout the entire museum. Give yourself 3-4 hours tops

There is no access for seniors to get any customer service representation to answer your questions

My experience with the museum itself was satisfactory, the staff were friendly and helpful. The directions to the exhibitions were informative. However, having said that my day trip to the museum was to see and experience the Hayden Planetarium which I was not able to do as it was sold out and there was no way to buy tickets in person. The site for the Hayden Planetarium is confusing and not user friendly at all. I found myself looking over all the sites for this experience so that I would be able to get tickets and information about availability. You can't get any customer service when you call and have to listen to an automatic voice system which does not address your questions.
