Continue to the US Freedom Pavilion for a rare look at preserved war machines and a sobering walk through the galleries that honor American servicemen. Don’t leave without participating in the Final Mission: USS Tang Submarine Experience, a thrilling interactive tour one of the most successful WWII submarines (additional cost).Next head to the Solomon Victory Theater to view Beyond All Boundaries, an epic 4D wartime documentary produced by Tom Hanks (additional cost). Relax and enjoy the approximate 50-minute showing that includes first-hand accounts of life in battle and on the home front. The National WWII Museum
Head inside The National WWII Museum with your general admission ticket and start exploring the captivating exhibition space at leisure. Guaranteed to move and educate, The National WWII Museum features interactive exhibits, soaring aircraft, personal histories, and more. The heart of the Museum experience, Campaigns of Courage: European and Pacific Theaters brings visitors inside the story of how the war was won. Two immersive exhibitions—Road to Berlin: European Theater Galleries and Road to Tokyo: Pacific Theater Galleries—feature environmental exhibits that guide visitors chronologically through the narrative of each theater of combat, using a sophisticated mix of set design, narrated and environmental videos, period newsreels, interactive oral-history kiosks, personal and digital artifacts, and dynamic displays for a uniquely evocative experience. How long you spend inside the museum is up to you! If you are hungry or simply want a break from exploring the exhibits, visit the on-site American Sector Restaurant + Bar and take a step back in time in BB’s Stage Door Canteen, a 1940s-style entertainment venue that showcases the music and performers of the war years. I visited the National WWII Museum Campus in New Orleans for the first time with my family. It was such a wealth of information gained in this museum. I appreciated the friendliness of the staff. The clean and peaceful environment for visitors to explore and learn from the historical collections stored in this museum. I am glad I took time to visit this museum.

It was ok

This was ok. It is huge and takes 5 buildings. However, everything is very spaced out and there is a lot of walking in between the exhibits.

Keeping history alive
BreAnna_W

This was such an incredible experience. My grandfather served in the Army during WW2. He didn’t speak about it much and these exhibits gave me an opportunity to feel close to him and learn so much that I never knew about what was going on in the world at that time of his life. My husband and I spent over 3 hours at the museum taking our time to soak it all in and we still could have stayed longer. Thank you for keeping the history alive, honoring those who were effected by the war and those who fought and for memorializing those who gave their lives.

Great museum, very interesting information and film clips. I recommend at least 4-5 hours to truly experience everything. My 12 year old daughter was interested throughout the entire museum and learned a lot.

My triplet sisters' father Herbert Bachant was killed in Rennes, France after the Normandy invasion. They were 5 years when I was born. I grew up with the stories of that time in 1944 when my mother was widowed. Seeing this museum dedicated to WWII was significant to me.

Museum Missing Some Things

Nice museum that is very well appointed and organized. I give it three stars because the Tuskegee Airmen were not represented at all or very little. That was very disappointing. The restaurant was excellent and the vintage store outside of the museum was excellent as well. Both had great employees and service. WWII museum please in your upcoming additions...and I know there will be additions...include all who contributed to the service of the war. It is imperative that this is done to remember all who suffered and died for the safety of the country.

The Decision that would Change History!

D-Day…what a decision General Eisenhower had to make! It was truly humbling to know there was no ‘Plan B’ for D-Day. It was a mission that once planned & given the ‘go’ it MUST HAVE BEEN WON AND IT WAS!

This was my second visit to the WWII Museum. They’ve added quite a bit since I was last here. There is so much history on display. The way the country came together and the ingenuity that was displayed by that generation should inspire us today. Take your kids!!!
