Meet your tour guide and group in central Montreal at the tourist information center a little before 1:30 p.m. Your tour starts at 1:30 p.m., and goes through downtown Montreal.

Follow your guide across St. Catherine Street, the area parallel to the largest segment of the underground portion of RESO. Along your above-ground portion of the tour, see Christ Church Cathedral, Les Cours Mont-Royal, and Dorchester Square.

Afterward, go underground to RESO, also known as The Underground City, which was formed in 1962. About 500,000 people circulate the underground city every day, and it has plenty of hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops to be explored.

Along your tour, learn about Montreal’s and RESO’s history, as well as what’s happening in both cities present day. Once your time is up, your guide returns you to the place where you met — the tourist information center in central Montreal. Arrive there at about 3 p.m.

Meet your guide inside the Tourist Information Center for your afternoon tour of Montreal’s RESO, the world’s longest underground tunnel network, a multilevel maze of 21 miles (33 km) of walkways, passages and shopping malls.  Start off with an above-ground stroll, hitting some of the major sites in Montreal: the bustling Rue Sainte-Catherine, which runs parallel to the largest segment of the underground city; the neo-Gothic Christ Church Cathedral; Les Cours Mont-Royal, an elegant above-ground shopping mall; and Dorchester Square, the leafy late 19th-century plaza.  And then it’s time to descend into RESO. The Underground City began in 1962 under Place Ville-Marie and has been developing extensions ever since. The 1.5-hour tour covers a carefully selected portion of RESO (from réseau, French for ‘network’) to show you the highlights of this vast underworld. Learn the history of this engineering marvel from your expert local guide and walk the multi-level passageways learning about the best restaurants, bars and shops beneath Montreal.

There were none. The guide was awful and basically took our group to a Main Street where we stood around until everyone decided to leave since the guide wasn’t doing anything. Went back to tour office and requested refund.

The tour started late because of the guide (15' late while tour is supposed to be like an hour long or so). The guide didn't really answer to questions and take care of some american tourists of the group in a self-serving way ? Must see because the underground network is famous but the tour is really not ! Disappointing.

The most important thing about our Montreal Walking Tour was our guide. She was knowledgeable about Montreal's past and present she adjusted the tour as needed to accommodate our group, whether we were interested more in one thing or another, whether we needed more rest stops or were raring to go. She was open and friendly, so we asked all kinds of questions and she happily answered. Her sense of humor helped us all to relax and get to know each other more easily. She gave us more time because we were all having so much fun - so she didn't go strictly by the clock but accommodated our interests and walking speed in order to get as much information as possible into our tour. I would definitely enjoy another tour by the same guide. And I will definitely pass the word about the Montreal Walking Tour to all my friends. Definitely 5 stars!

This was a very unique tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and we would have never known about or been able to navigate the underground city with out this tour. We even braved it 2 days later and were able to travel via the pathways from place de armes to the Canadiens arena. Very worthwhile tour.
