Your tour begins in the middle of Moab where you’ll meet you professional guide, who will help you get comfortably situated inside of the off-road, 4WD vehicle. Enjoy the 30-mile (48km) drive from Moab to Canyonlands National Park, where you’ll explore the popular Island in the Sky District with its spectacular desert scenery.

Start off atop a mesa with views looking out over the horizon before your guide deftly maneuvers the switchbacks of Shafer Trail. On this section of the 100-mile (161-km) White Rim Road Loop, you’ll make stops at spectacular Gooseneck Overlook and famous Musselman Arch, and photograph vistas of the Colorado River and the view from Thelma and Louise Point.

In addition to the popular lookouts, your expert guide will take you to spots that aren’t as frequently visited, where you’ll find everything from ancient Pueblo rock art to vertical views down the canyons. You’ll learn the history of the Pueblo people who inhabited the Four Corners area, and aside from the culture and history lessons, your guide will also explain the geology of the red rock canyons before you.

When you stop for a break to take photos, venture out on one of the short trails that leave from many of the viewpoints; you’ll get a different perspective and angle for photographing the canyons.

When this Canyonlands tour from Moab is over, your guide will return you to the middle of Moab to the spot where the tour began.

Enjoyable Tour

We loved the half-day tour. Travis was super friendly and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. We saw Canyonlands in a manner we couldn't have without the 4-wheel drive. My complaint lies with Viator, NOT the company who took us into Canyonlands. I called Viator to change the reservation to 8:00 a.m. The operator said that it wasn't available. When I asked the name of the company to get questions answered that the operator couldn't answer, suddenly there was an 8:00 a.m. opening. I had my doubts. I went to the company upon arrival in Moab and, sure enough, they had received no booking change. We took the 1:00 tour. It was 107, but the vehicle had AC. Of course, it's not frigid cold because you're driving slowly and looking around. I have zero complaints and only praise for NavTec. They answered all of my questions when I checked in with them, which Viator couldn't do. I would not use Viator again. I highly recommend NavTec, however.

We did the afternoon tour and Mike was our guide. He was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable and entertaining. He covered everything from the history of petroglyphs, geology, desert ecology to movie history and local history. The views were amazing and you get to see parts of Canyonlands you might not otherwise get to. And Mike makes great lemonade! 👍

Our driver David was very informative and give us lots of information about the park. I don't think I would have enjoyed the Canyonlands NP as much as I did if it wasn't for this trip and seeing it from a different viewpoint.
Rick was awesome!

Wonderful Experience!

This tour was great! I made a mistake and purchased the canyon tour instead of the arches tour, but my son and I both enjoyed it. It gives us a reason to go back and book the arches tour later. :) We really enjoyed ourselves. I gave it a 4 because the vehicle we had wasn't very comfy with a total of 4 people plus the driver. My son and I had to share with 2 others, that actually turned out to be really nice. :) I just would have preferred not to be so packed in the back seat. Next time, I will schedule a tour for 4, so that it will only include us. :) Other than that, it was a great experience that I think everyone should take advantage of!

Spectacular vistas. Ben, our guide, taught us a lot of new things regarding geology. Felt very safe in vehicle. Learning about the cow paths was great.
