Don’t got unless you have time to waste a day

First off the duration on the app said 9hrs we knew it was going to be a travel time going to the hot springs. The van was 45min late picking us up. Then a group that came on the bus kept asking to stop on the way for food, bank, and to get water accessories for the park which added on another 2 hours to our drive and cut down our time at the hot springs. We asked for a English tour guide but she was Spanish speaking and said to only communicate with her on the app. She kept catering to the one group while the rest of us felt like we wasted our time. There are no showers and basically changed in the car or on the side of it. Not worth the time and energy wasted. They should’ve kept a more timely manner for all of us. I want a refund and wouldn’t recommend for any of my friends. Other tours we saw were more well guided with the tour guide going along side the group rather than timing us out at each location. Really wouldn’t recommend this tour at all.

Brilliant experience, small vehicle

Fantastic tour guide, perhaps best for Spanish speakers but really friendly and she knows many languages! Tolantongo was amazing we loved it! Super experience we would do it again if it weren't for one thing... The biggest disappointment was the vehicle, it's over 3 hours each way and due to the size of the vehicle I was in quite a lot of pain on the way back from my knees and my legs cramping up. I had to take paracetamol to sleep that night.

The caves and hot springs were amazing. We stayed overnight. The accommodations were subPar. No air conditioning and No Wi-Fi. People were very friendly, though. Got to experience real Mexico with the locals.

The 4 hour bus ride originally had my friends and I concerned but the bus ride ended up being on of our favorite parts. Our two tour guides stopped in a small town to have an authentic Mexican meal which was absolutely delicious. They told us about the history of the land as we drove up beautiful scenic mountains on the drive to our destination. Once we arrived we were offered to do a zip lining excursion. If you are offered the zip lining DO IT. The view was breath taking and we felt very safe -the caves and pools were beyond words. The picture do not even come close to the real beauty and excitement you experience while climbing through the tunnels and relaxing in the salt pools. One piece of advice is to most definitely bring water shoes or purchase them at the facility(cash only). The rocks and steps are rugged so you want to make sure your feet are protected. Also, bring a waterproof headlamp or a waterproof case for your phone because the caves are extremally dark and you will need light and want to take pictures as well. The whole experience was to die for and on the bus ride home we stopped to try the "drink of the gods". If you are visiting Mexico this excursion is a must and be sure to tip your tour guide.

SCAM! 14 HOUR day! Attached to a hotel! Overcrowded pools! Recipe for COVID! DON'T Buy! Save your $$$!

SCAM! 14 HOUR day! Nothing Relaxing! Attached to a hotel! Overcrowded pools! Recipe for COVID! DON'T Buy! Save your $$$! This was the most disappointing and disgusting excursion my partner and I have ever been on. We purchased tickets to experience what we thought and were sold as a relaxing and remote location for our last day on vacation. The opposite is what we experienced! Truly a birthday gift that definitely didn't deliver! To start the pickup at our hotel was 30 minutes late. Once we got aboard the bus we saw that neither of the hosts or the driver were wearing any masks. Also, the bus was not equipped with any ventilation system that was up to code. On our way there and our trip home we were not allowed to open the windows to keep everyone comfortable. This increased even more risk! Then were informed that the trip will be a 4 hour drive - 1 way! - to the location. That meant a 8 hour round trip. What we got was a 14 hour day. Yes, 14 HOURS! Only 3 hours were spent at the actual destination. Had we known the whole day would've been wasted we would've gotten off the bus right then and there. When they mention only taking so many people do to crowd control, it is a joke! There is no crowd control. The pools are attached to a Hotel. People and kids are running around everywhere with no masks or regards for personal space - as you can see from the photos. People were flowing from pool to pool with no regards for someone else in that space. Nothing about the pools are sanitary. Water flows from pool to pool down many levels collecting and sharing all of "who knows what" that surely will increase the potential of catching COVID. If you value your time and wish to enjoy a day that is truly relaxing or a peaceful experience, don't spend your money on this trip. I have been on many trips and my partner has more to celebrate her birthday especially. This was one that I cannot recommend to anyone! Yes, DO NO BUY THIS TRIP!

Amazing!

I enjoyed this tour so much!! Even though the tour guide did not speak English, he did use a translator app to communicate and surprisingly was pretty decent. It was a 4 hour drive to the destination and 4 hours back, we stayed for 4 hours to see and enjoy everything and it was perfect! Two things to bring water shoes and phone waterproof protector!! It’s a must!!

Get ready for a bumpy ride!

The experience is wonderful! An absolute must see & do. The transportation was another story. The vechile used was way to small for the party of 5. Three in the "back seat" was so uncomforable and with a 4.5- 5 hour ride I would not recommend it.

Thank you for your provided comments Armando, this help us improve the experience in order we can give a better service anytime. The transportation you had was a 7 seat van, even though we have to make sure everyone is confortable :)

This was such a fantastic tour! Maria Fernanda was a fantastic tour guide. She met us in front of our B&B and made sure everyone of us on the tour was having a good time. She has the most amazing stories and pictures to back them up. I highly recommend her. The trip is about 4 hours to get there but once you see the falls and the water it is worth it! I will definitely be returning!

The hot water pools were amazing. The Caves and river were spectacular. Beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere. Only disappointment was we requested an English speaking guide which was not provided and we had a big communication issue including not understanding the history he was giving us. Due to the language issue it took us an hour to find him when we were ready to leave.

The tour was amazing. The hot springs were beautiful and worth the 4 hours drive. Our tour guides were amazing as well. They took time to explain the history of everything. They also ensured we enjoyed the experience, which we did

An Oasis at the top
Jennifer_M
, Sep 2021
The most memorable part of the day was hiking up to the top of El Gloria, we did this on our own and it was a can't miss experience if you would like to get away from the crowds and see more natural beauty. The water was clear blue, and you were deep in the trees, absolutely gorgeous. To Note: the whole day was about 16 hours from pickup to drop off so be prepared and don't make any plans for after you get back.

Jenn thank you for all your great comments. This is an amazing and relaxing experience as you said and totally worth to stay a bit more. Traffic and wheather conditions can make this tour is more time time than mentioned on the description but you will definately come back relaxed and with beautiful pictures and memorable experience.

Long trip but the hot springs and the river were AMAZING WOWOWOWOOW
Daniel_R
, Aug 2021
Our guide was Juancarlos and he did an amazing job. You can tell that he loves what he does and he wants the tour to be an opportunity for the tourists to learn, explore, touch and taste as much of the Mexican culture as possible. He was incredibly attentive and considerate - especially with our 9 year old. We loved the tour to the springs, the river and the caves. WOWOWOWO what an experience. The ride can be 3-4 hours each way and we almost did not do it because that. However, we are so glad we did because not only were the springs amazing, the trip out there lets you see so much more terrains and nature. Highly recommended! Thank you Juancarlos.
