Excellent guide who knew the history of the area very well. She made all the locations interesting and nice for us. We were the only 2 people on the tour and Florence gave us lots of information and attention. Her recommendations for coffee and lunch as we went on our own a couple of times were great. Beautiful country and cities. Very enjoyable day spent there with our guide.

Excellent tour, first in Aix, with some time for lunch and shopping, then on to Marseilles. My family appreciated the convenient van transportation and punctuality of the tour. Our guide, Amir, was very friendly, organized, thoughtful and knowledgeable. One example was getting a map with suggestioned walking route for our free time. I highly recommend him and this experience. It was my first time booking this type of excursion while on a cruise, and I will do more if these in the future. Much better than a huge bus with big group.

Day shore excursion for Aix-en-Provence

We were on our Mediterranean cruise and had a day stop in Marseille. We were very happy we chose this shore excursion with Viator. First, we were met up with our guide Phil or Phillip at the port with our name printed and it was my family of four who were the only guests of the tour. You have to visit Aix-En Provence! It is so quaint and clean. We traveled in a air condition minivan and was able to see Aix-En-Provence and Marseille in plenty of time before boarding the ship. Phil was an excellent tour guide and highly recommend him.

This all day trip was paired with a 1/2 day trip and it just did not work. We waited for a couple that did not show and we had a late start. when we arrived in Aix, our time was limited because of the late start and then the guide had to drive the half day people back to the ship so our "free time was now extended. In addition one of the half day couples was late returning to the guide to be taken back to the ship, so the guide, in turn, was delayed returning to Aix to continue the tour. Our tour time was shortened by a lot. Our time in Aix had mush too much free time because of this and we wee not guided at all. Marseilles was much better. The half day tours should not be grouped with the full day tours. It does not work.

We were 9 people crammed into a vehicle that should have comfortably fit only 6. Our guide was fine but lack energy and enthusiasm. Plus, she was an incredibly slow driver! What should have been a 30-minute drive took us nearly an hour. I'm going to assume that a different guide we would give the tour an additional star or two.

This excursion was a real joke, it all started out with leaving 1/2 hour late. Then weaker and 8 people into a van that's 3, 3 and 3. The driver of the van was also the tour guide. He had a microphone which was attached to the core that he had to keep adjusting because no one can hear. The tour went like this, we went to the first place of interest he said he guess 30 minutes and we should meet back in the van. Then on to the next place of interest same scenario. Then onto Aix-en-Provence where he took 30 minutes too park then told us to be back in 2 1/2 hours this location as far as I know is nothing more than shopping we were never taken to a place of interest here. This is just a expensive transportation! Never again!

This was the best trip again that we have chosen to take rather than the regular Cruise excursion. Our guide was perfectly on time and he was good in english and well informed about history and the places. We had our ample time to go around and at the same time we got the share of guided tour. For anyone going on a cruise to Marseille needs to book this tour and go for it. Its cheaper and also worth more than what the cruise offers.
