The guide didn’t come and a nice guide came to replace « last minute ». We had to wait 15min her… The new guide did a good job showing the city. Having being part of other tours in The region: i saw much more on top what she was saying. From palazzo to additional medieval architectural fun facts. She took it slow but i think she could sometimes tell more, within the time. She was proud to be from Lucca and that showed positively, giving good energy. To summarise: the guide did a good job and i were more angry about the delay at the begining.

Dear Customer, we are really sorry for the time you had to wait by the Information Office. The designed tour leader had a little car accident and couldn't come in time, for this reason we had to find last moment a substitute and Paola could come just with 15 minutes delay. We are happy to read that you appreciated the walking tour and Paola's job but in any case, if you still feel unsatisfied and angry for the the delay, on your request we will refund you.

Best money you will spend in Lucca

Using her own proud Lucca-ness, Vittoria manages to explain the ongoing rivalries between the ancient Italian city-states and republics in a humorous way. Her entire walk is packed with great information and tips on what to look for. While the tour was provided in Italian and English, she was excellent at directing the non-addressed language group to some nearby photo spot, so at no point did it feel like "waiting for the other bit to finish". Top guide!

Lucia from Lucca

My husband and I were coming from Milan by train and ran a few minutes late getting to our meeting place for this tour. Lucia was waiting patiently for us. As it turned out, we were the only people scheduled for the tour, so were lucky enough to have Lucia's undivided attention. She was patient, very knowledgable about the sites we visited and was happy to answer questions as they came up. A very earnest and smart guide. Highly recommend!

Excellent Walking Tour

Our guide for the walking tour of Lucca was a delight. She was very interesting to listen to not only for the historical facts she shared at every stop we made, but also for the details she pointed out in the architecture of the buildings. We learned a lot! Listening to her was like listening to a good story-teller.

Bad Planning

Bilingual is nice when earphones are used. But with a guide it was awful, especially this one. Explanations were too long, people needed to wait around. Then she lost us, since she used no recognizeable item that could lead us to her. People simply walked off when she was dealing with the Italian guests, and then she didn't wait for anyone to reappear. This tour was a total waste of time and all of the English speaking guests should be refunded. We alone were a family of five.

Dear Customer In the website page so as clearly specified by the Tourist Information Office employees and by the tour guide before the tour starts, the tour is (and will always be) held in two languages Italian and English and it is also specified (see website) that the tour does not provide any devices such as earphones. Lucca is a town that deserves more than 2 hours long guided tour but we, as qualified tour guides, do always our best to try to turn this tour into a "full immersion" in our customs, art, history, traditions and our explanations are informative and detailed. No Customer ever complained because we gave "too long explanations" on the contrary when the tour ends Clients are always curious and eager to know more. The tour implies that the guide spends the same amount of time sharing information in each of the 2 languages for any of the stops that the tour provides. We are always very careful try not to lose the group and if Customers walk off, we recall their attention so that the the whole group can leave for the next stop and more important we walk slow so that all our Clients can catch up in case they stop for taking pictures or in case they are differently distracted or in any other case. Moreover as very often the Italian speaking Customers are fewer than the English speaking ones, they very gently let us give them infos during the walking interval from "destination to destination" so that the "waiting times" are shortened. Probably you expected a less informative guided tour and you got bored and eventually your attention was captured by something else and you lost the group and we are sorry because you lost an opportunity to enjoy the tour as the rest of the group did. We are sorry if you consider this tour " a waste of time" because our Customers highest percentage find it very useful and fully knowledgeable and offers a grat opportunity to appreciate Lucca in "guided" way. We hope you will get the chance to come back and to reconsider our service. Best regards
