Overview
Spot crocodiles in the wild on a 3-hour river cruise from Jaco. On board a covered safari boat, you'll float down the Tárcoles River, watching for American crocodiles with help from the captain. Lunch is included after the cruise.

After hotel pickup in the Jaco area, your tour starts as you board the riverboat for your crocodile cruise on the Tárcoles River. Your captain keeps an eye out for the biggest American crocodiles in the water, hopefully providing you with a good look at these reptiles.
Depending on the season, a variety of other wildlife can also be spotted, including birds such as ospreys, cormorants, pelicans, and frigates (October to April). The Tárcoles' mangrove system is home to roughly 55 types of birds and is a refuge for scarlet macaws.
At the end of the cruise, enjoy a lunch of typical Costa Rican cuisine before transport back to your pickup location.

Come observe the Great American Crocodile in our famous river safari on Tárcoles River. Our captain will surely spot the biggest crocodiles in the river for you to enjoy a great up close encounter with these magnificent reptiles. You will be amazed by the wide diversity of birds we find in this area. Your guide will point out different kinds of mammals, birds and reptiles that flourish in this mangrove system. Depending on the season, you will be able to spot different migratory aviary species; from October to April, you can glimpse ospreys, gulls, cormorants, pelicans and frigates. The Tárcoles River is a shelter for approximately 56 types of birds and is a refuge for the famous scarlet macaws as well.
