If you’re hesitant, DON’T do it
, Sep 2021
Could have been great but was far from it. One of the pilots on our way up seemed a little off. He was making jokes about this being his first time doing this, just getting out of prison and that we’re going to do a “lot of spinning” to which we say “no,no, no”. Sure enough not long after take off he did a few steep banked turns (I get that they probably weren’t steep to an experienced paraglider, but this was my first time). I got sick. I’m a small plane pilot, lived on ships, never been sick on a rollercoaster, plane or car. I didn’t understand how other people could handle this. When we got down, I asked my wife if her paraglider did sharp turns and she said definitely not. I reached out to airtime to share my experience. I spoke with Kora who didn’t let me speak before asking “did you tell him not to?” I said I have no idea what’s normal or not normal for paragliding and assumed this was how he had to turn. She got aggressive and asked me if we said no when he joked about spinning on the way up. I said my wife said “no, no,no”. She said “well, did you actually say no or just your wife?” What? I thought we made it fairly clear. I was going to let this go until I got an email from the manager, Kathryn which instead of an apology or an attempt to find out what happened, she accused us of having drank too much champagne the night before because we mentioned to their guides that we had a glass of champagne upon arrival at the hotel when we arrived the day before: “ I have been advised from our Pilot that the vomiting could be a result of consumption of alcohol (champagne) the previous day, which affected the enjoyment of your flight. Naturally, we would never allow anyone under the influence of alcohol to fly but at the time, the pilot perceived that there was no obvious signs of very recent (today) alcohol. However, upon reflection, when your wife and yourself had first met the Pilots, there were discussions of a most enjoyable night with champagne” They did offer me another flight which seems odd after an aggressive email blaming me for the bad experience before ever getting the information. My entire day in Lauterbrunnen was ruined by being sick. My advice is that if you’re at all hesitant to do this, don’t do it. If you do choose to go, try a smaller company with less variation in the guides. If you go with airtime, ask for Toby. He was an absolutely wonderful person and my wife had a nice flight with him.

Amazing experience!!! My husband and I had a great time, especially as first time flyers. The service was exceptional. We were supposed to be picked up from Lauterbrunnen, however they were able to pick us up from a different location when we asked. The paragliding itself was indescribable, you'll really have to try it to see for yourself. Overall A+! This is something you definitely don't want to miss when in Switzerland!

Couldn't have had a better experience! Fabian and Walter were extremely professional, fun, and talented paragliders. On top of all that, I can't imagine a more picturesque spot in the world to go paragliding. The photos from our flight were simply stunning! Highly recommend for anyone coming to the Swiss Alps as it is a much gentler and easy alternative to skydiving.

Super easy booking and amazing experience. The Airtime crew worked with us to fit our two groups into a perfect back to back sessions so we could watch each other land and take turns babysitting the youngest kids too little to go.

We had a great time with our two pilots Hayden and Daniel. They put us totally at ease they were on time, friendly and personable but most of all professionals. The flight itself was amazing and truly a bucket list experience. When we landed the company drove us back to Lauterbrunnen. Highly recommend

Phenomenal experience w/beauty in every direction! So glad we did this! Benny was my pilot and he was so sweet. I felt safe and wasn’t scared at all. Benny has been flying for 35 years! Very experienced. We purchased the videos and pictures they took. We were in Lauterbrunnen celebrating our 30th anniversary! My husbands pilot was Bruno and he too was fabulous. Thank-you!

I can't think of a better place to paraglide than Lauterbrunnen Valley. The staff at Airtime was fantastic. Karo was very engaging and helped get our group pumped up for the launch. Oli was my pilot. I think he could tell I was a bit nervous so explained to me that it takes years to become qualified to pilot tandem paragliding trips. In fact, Oli had flown over 1000 times. Once in the air the feeling is like no are flying!!!! Oli was great at showing me how paragliding works and he cracked a couple of jokes along the way to calm my nerves. My experience with Airtime Paragliding was a life memory!
