Awesome Experience

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life and was by far the best part of my trip to the Hilton Head area. Myself and my family were able to enjoy the feeling of an ocean cruise on the way out, while also learning about and seeing ocean life such as dolphins, stingrays, squid, and of course, shrimp. Overall, this was a great experience for people of all ages and I’d recommend this excursion to anyone who is interested.

Not what we had hoped for!

Somewhat disappointed! It was said we would share in the catch. With 15 passengers, we only caught 1/2 lb and some were extremely small. So he auctioned off to one person 1/2 shrimp. Very little explanation of shrimping industry and no mention of safety precautions or life jackets. We were told there was a hole in the net! Disappointed. Not worth a $43 dollar experience. The confirmation didn’t even have the address of where we should go to get the boat!

Getting to take the shrimps home. Seeing Randy and Spike in action was fun. We had perfect weather in early June.

Watching the net deployment and retrieval, seeing the catch and the great variety of fish and crustaceans, and the crew doing a excellent job of naming and talking about the various ones. Also caught a huge horseshoe crab that got stuck in the nets.

Great way to spend a few hours to learn how shrimp trawling works. Small company feel. Enjoyed 2 pounds of the freshest local shrimp ever. They helped peel and devein the shrimp for easy cooking. Wish I could get fresh shrimp like that weekly

Cool idea - not a big catch :(

What a fun experience. Spike (the Captain) wasn't very friendly but thankful the first Mate Kayla (????) was.....She did all the talking and explained many things about the entire process of shrimping and the eco system. Very Knowledgeable. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of shrimp on this tour but it was still interesting. Lots of work on their part. Glad I experienced but will not do it again. If you have never been try it just for the experience.

Awesome safe outing during pandemic!

This trip exceeded my expectations! Very fun and educational. Also, everyone wore masks and we felt like it was a safe outing despite the pandemic. I was a little worried about getting seasick but I didn't even come close! The trip was relaxing. We didn't catch a lot of shrimp, maybe 15 pounds but that was fine. Caught tiny flounder, crabs and jellyfish too! Fun to see.
