Make your own way to Florence’s Accademia Gallery to meet your art-historian guide. Luckily for you, your ticket allows you to step straight inside the famous museum, skipping the long admission lines that form in the high season. It’s a highlight of this Viator Exclusive, which is available nowhere else.

Among the first to enter, see the gallery’s highlights without the hordes of people that gather later in the day. Walk alongside your small group and guide to see notable Michelangelo works including Palestrina Pietà, Prigioni, and San Matteo.

Learn about the artwork as you wander the halls of the gallery, and then stand in awe before the 'David'—arguably Michelangelo’s most famous piece of work. Occupying a head-turning post under the gallery’s dome, David is often cited as the showpiece of Renaissance-era sculpture and remains one of the best-known pieces of Western art in the world.

Bid your farewells to 'David,' and leave the gallery for a cafe in the heart of Florence where a typical Italian breakfast (strong coffee and sweeter-than-sweet pastries) awaits. Or, if you prefer, stay at the Accademia Gallery for a little longer to explore on your own and discover art by the likes of Lippi and Botticelli.

Only way to see David. Tour guide made sure we had a picture right in front of David and explained the entire musuem and the meaning of the statues. There are thousands of people who go so if your not with a VIP tour it's difficult to get close. It was great and having a nice coffee and pastry to top it off was delightful.

Worth It

The guide led us straight to the David and because of that, we were nearly the only ones there; almost felt like a private viewing. The crowds later were overwhelming. The breakfast is not necessary - you are given a coupon and told where the cafe is located.

Lovely Early Access Experience. Great Guide.

We enjoyed bypassing the lines in the heat (even in the morning), and having time almost alone with Michelangelo's spectacular David. The Accademia was a bit smaller than we had imagined but it's very worthwhile visit. This tour was worth the price. We had a very knowledgeable, friendly, passionate and interesting guide. The museum has some wonderful works of art, other Michelangelo sculptures as well as wonderful very early musical instruments, including the first piano ever created. I highly recommend this experience.

Our Superb Guide (Lucia) made this tour worthwhile

Going to the Academy first thing in the morning gave us perfect access to the David. Glad we had the skip the line group ticket, since our line was much shorter and quicker than the other line. I was surprised that the outside of the Academy almost looked as if was a warehouse, but the inside was incredible. Lucia our brilliant tour guide was absolutely phenomenal and made this semi private tour for 8 of us one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Lucia was extremely passionate, knowledgeable, and kept us engaged with wonderful & interesting facts about the stunning David as well as other various artists (this is especially magnificent since my hubby is NOT an art fan but found it extremely worthwhile). As an Art History Professor with a no-nonsense attitude, Lucia moved along several by-standers that were trying to listen in by telling them that this was a private paid tour (we loved it, thank you!!) The tour lasted about an hour hitting the highlights of the museum which was perfect amount of time, however the entry ticket allowed us to stay in the museum on our own until we were finished browsing. Breakfast was a ticket for a local cafe 2 blocks away, for a beverage, pastry, and candy. We were not going to go to breakfast, but decided to give it a try and found we appreciated the mental and food break! Highly recommend this tour and tour guide.

Lucia was a great tour guide! Her background in the arts and history was very much appreciated as she described the various sculptures in the museum. I didn't take advantage of the free breakfast because I wanted to explore more of the museum on my own.

This tour was the best decision we could have made - we were first in to see the David and literally had no one else in the corridor with us leading up to this magnificent work of art. In addition, our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!
