Small-Group Palazzo Vecchio Secret Passages Tour with Lunch

Lovely tour with lots of interesting information about the Palazzo Vecchio. Visited rooms and areas of the palazzo that are not usually seen by the regular tourists. Definitely more interesting than a regular tour.

We couldn't find the group because the guide didn't wear the special jacket. Thanks to the guy at the info desk we finally could join the group. After the tour nobody told us anything about the lunch, so we had to find the restaurant by ourselves. The tour itself was excellent and exactly what we expected.

You must first go in and exchange your voucher for a ticket. The meeting point is in front of the lion. The tour was really good. I liked getting to see parts of the palace usually closed to the public. The study room with all the pictures was truly spectacular!

What an excellent way to spend a couple of hours in Florence. Our guide Guicamo was not only knowledgable, but very easy to understand, and quite humorous at times. Who knew what secrets the walls held? I’ll forever be checking out walls and doors now, wondering what mysteries lie beyond. He’s definitely piqued my interest. Quite a few steps to climb, but I’m in my late 60’s, and managed to get thru ok. Following the tour, you are given access to the museum itself, with all its wonderful collections. Good facilities at Palazzo Vecchio....toilets, cloakroom, cafe. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Our family has been in Florence for 6 days and had one amazing tour after another until this one... we arrived to the location indicated on the voucher - we new we needed tickets and asked the workers at the entrance and they said we had to wait at the entrance as it noted on the voucher. In every other tour the guide has handed us our ticket. Another family came to the same location asked the same question and ended up waiting with us and then another couple did the exact same process. All 3 guys from each family kept going around and outside the ticket area looking for someone with a sign and found nothing. After about 15 minutes, one of them called the number on the voucher and they sent us in to the ticket office. A very rude man yelled at all of us saying we missed the tour and we didn’t get our tickets to which we all explained what happened.. he kept saying we didn’t get tickets and we kept saying please read the instructions on the voucher and he refused. It’s a shame because the tour was interesting once the lady came back for us and the 1 hour and 1/2 turned into about a 30 min rushed tour. Then the tour guide said she was sick and needed a substitute.. it was total chaos to the point that we almost didn’t want to do the lunch but we did and thankfully that part was wonderful !!

I had toured the Palazzo Vecchio on my own earier in the week and this tour made the history of the palace come alive. Tour guide was great - very knowledgeable. I did not go to lunch because of other commitments.

Great to be away from the crowds and see places that are normally seen.

Really interesting insight into the usually unseen, private access and history of the palace. Also a must for any Dan Brown fans

This was my kids favorite tour. We had about 15 people, adults and kids. The guide took us through a small side door into the building and did a nice job explaining the history of the palace and why the secret passageways were created. A great way to get your kids to learn about the history without another boring museum tour! It was a bit challenging to locate the tour guide to start- the voucher wasn't very clear. We had to go into the ticketing office not just stand in front of it. But other than that it was fun.
