Cultural relaxed evening, highly recommended

Olio & Convivium is worth the upgrade to the dinner. Excellent service, food and accomodation. The concert was just around the corner and restaurant staff ensured we knew where to go and made it on-time. Talented opera singers entertained us for the evening. A different side of Florence, highly recommended for a cultural relaxed evening.

Delicious dinner with a entertained comedy opera. The restaurant has a romantic atmosphere. The church was cozy and autentic old-time. I felt like the being in the good old days! The Viator booking rearranged our date since we where late for the booking day.

Dinner and La Traviata

Had a fantastic dinner at Osteria La Toscanella, set menu (I had pici, a thick, freshly made type of spaghetti that came with a few different sauces, mine had a duck ragu. Chicken cacciatore with potatoes (haven't had it that good since my Sicilian grandmother passed away) sparkling water, a nice glass of red wine and finished with tiramisu and espresso. All of it delicious. St. Mark's, the location of the opera was not even a five minute walk away. Intimate little setting, performed almost in the round with period costumes accompanied by a piano and a very funny gentleman who explains the story and setting. My seat was INCHES away from the performers (was even asked to assist with covering the furniture between acts, they really have fun with it). And the voices in this company were SPECTACULAR. Afterwards I stayed and watched as the cast had a hilarious Q&A with a group of English speaking students, what a great bunch of people these are, the highlight of my vacation in Florence....

I am so glad I booked this for my trip to Firenze! I booked it on the day I arrived so I wasn’t exhausted from sight seeing during the day. The meal was excellent, the restaurant staff were kind, courteous, and helpful, and the show after was amazing!! The church that the show is performed at is small but the ambience is beautiful! I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and highly recommend it!

For opera lovers this is a must-do. St. Marks is a great venue where you are within a few feet of the performers, who are accompanied by piano. It is very intimate and the performers are top-notch. The night we were there they performed La Traviata which was beautifully done in this small setting. Dinner was nice in a near-by restaurant a short distance away. The combination price was really reasonable.

We did the Opera experience. It was a very nice time and we are pleased to say that we saw an Italian Opera in Italy! However dinner was a bit lackluster. It's clear they used a 'tourist' menu which I suppose it my fault for booking the preset menu which was mostly to save time and make sure we had no problems reaching the show on time. It was fine, and probably even good for individuals who aren't comfortable deviating from the average pasta and meat sauce to be fair, my husband absolutely loved his pasta and duck sauce. After enjoying a lot of other amazing food in the city, it was a bit of a let down. Overall, still a good experience. Next time, I would just likely chose the ala cart option.

The meal was disappointing, not great quality, and let the evening down. The performance of the three performers in the church was superb, we could have listened to them for another hour! Such talent!

The dinner was amazing, We chose the a la carte option due to food allergies etc. The broccoli flan was amazing and the risotto a hit. Only downside was the calamari which was too touch to eat for one of my party. However it was a very rushed meal in order to get to the opera concert. Could have done without the concert it was very basic . Nice voices but really more a recital than a concert.
