Walk to a Florentine food market and peruse the stalls, each teeming with the region’s freshest ingredients, including cured meats, olives, cheeses, balsamic vinegar, sun-dried tomatoes, and other Tuscan delicacies. Select some of these high-quality ingredients for your cooking class later in the afternoon and enjoy tastings of the food and wine.

Climb aboard a minibus and journey into the Tuscan hills and drive to a rustic farmhouse. Under the guidance of an expert chef, prepare a full Tuscan meal. One of a kind culinary experience in a beautiful estate home in Florence

You have to go with Thomas and Carmela. They were great chefs and passionate individuals who had a lot to share about the Italian culture and cooking. If you're lucky, Carmela will sing and dance for you too. The estate was beautiful and it was such a short drive from the market. Thank you for an amazing morning/afternoon. We loved all the dishes we made- bruschetta, pasta, roast pork and tiramisu. I would highly recommend this tour!

AMAZING- INCREDIBLE- TOP NOTCH.... I have SO much to say about this tour that won't fit on this review. I had an AMAZING time learning about shopping and cooking Italian foods. This was the BEST tour I have had yet. The cooking class by Camille was FANTASTIC- a SWEET lady that sang, entertained told stories and JUST HILARIOUS! We made a Meat Sauce, Pasta, Pork Roast, Potatoes and Tiramisu. I REALLY can't say enough good things about it.

This was an excellent tour. We got to go through the local food market and get some good history regarding the city and information regarding local Italian food. We then went to the cooking class at a beautiful estate with awesome views of Florence. The cooking instructor, Carmella, was so fun and lively. She made the class very fun. We had two great guides, Thomas and Elisa. We got to learn how to cook some authentic dishes and then enjoy the food we helped prepare overlooking the awesome views. Our guides were so informative and friendly. They gave us great local recommendations and were so welcoming.

The class was truly wonderful. We learned so much about how to make homemade pasta and ragu and how to make a lovely italian desert. The only downside is we never received our italian cooking recipes

Hello, Thank you for your review. Please contact Walkabout directly so that we can send you the recipes. We have already sent them out to people who took the class so we must have had the wrong address. Kind regards, Walkaabout

AMAZING experience!!

We booked this cooking class for a birthday trip to Florence, Italy earlier this month, and are so glad we did. Chris and Carmella were fantastic!!! Everything was exactly as listed on the Viator post- from the Mercato Centrale trip to the full-day cooking experience at the farmhouse (seamlessly organized and prompt). Chris and Carmella are extremely talented chefs and are SO much fun to learn from… such a perfect duo! They truly made our day in Tuscany an unforgettable one. Thank you again and we look forward to receiving the recipes via email so we can make this delicious meal at home! -Leigh & Joe

Camella and Chris were engaging and knowledgeable. They both had amazing cooking skills and brought new insight into old dishes. The market tour took us to special shops and showed us the best produce to buy. Everything was spectacular (especially the view) and the food was phenomenal! Thank you!

A fantastic local experience, well-worth doing

This was a very enjoyable and memorable experience - started with a tour of the local markets to select produce, then a short trip to a near-by but very picturesque hillside villa with a well-equipped group kitchen. All seemed to enjoy making Italian foods (bruschetta, pork roast, past, panna cotta) over a few Chiantis. Highly recommend our guide Olivia and host / chef Carmella. This is worth a half-day of your time.

Not only was this so much fun but we also learned so much! Olivia and Carmella were the best, we laughed, we learned and we ate the most amazing food we prepared ourselves. My family, 6 of us, hands down we would all recommend this cooking class! We were a family, actually no teens, my kids are young adults, my husband and myself and my brother-in-law and we loved it! Thank you Olivia and Carmella!
