Cinque Terre is one of Italy’s most captivating landscapes. Translated as ‘five lands,’ the region is made up of five unique fishing villages that line the Italian Riviera.

Your day trip begins in central Florence, where meet your guide and hop aboard your coach to head out toward the seashore. Stop first in the southernmost village of Riomaggiore, which dates back to the 13th century. Beloved for its local wine and incomparable scenery, admire the pastel-colored buildings as you follow your guide along the cobblestone streets.

Head to the tiny village of Manarola next, home to medieval relics and a plethora of grapevines. Stroll the harbor and take snapshots of the beautiful, bright buildings that cling to the cliff.

Then, weather permitting, hop aboard your boat to travel to Monterosso. If you choose to include lunch with your ticket, settle down in one of the village’s restaurants for a traditional helping of seafood and pasta, complemented by wine and water. (A sample menu can be found in the Itinerary section.)

Afterward, with taste buds and stomach sated, enjoy some time to explore independently. Unpack your bathing suit and hit the jeweled waters of Monterosso’s stunning beaches.

Make a final stop in Vernazza, bordered by terraced olive groves that are said to produce some of the finest olive oil in Italy. Explore the bustling square and winding streets at your leisure, before returning back to Florence.

Note: Cinque Terre low-cost option does not include train and boat tickets.

Best day of our vacation!
Julia_C
, Aug 2022
Had a fabulous day being led around Cinque Terre by tour guide Antonella. She was great at communicating the schedule and meeting places with us so the day tan smoothly. The bus and train rides were fast and easy. We saw 4/5 towns and had time to walk around and get amazing photos (30-45 minutes for most of the stops). The best and longest stop of the day was Monterosso al Mare. We decided to skip the lunch and go swimming for 2 hours on the public beach there- very well worth it. It was the perfect use of our day and we can’t wait to go back!

It was very nice trip overall. Mildly long day and could actually do with one less stop. The boat ride was technically a ferry to the next island so not quite what I had pictured from the description. We still had a nice day

One of the best tours
Geetanjali_N
, Aug 2022
It was one of the best tours in my experience, very well planned and you get enough time to spend in each stop plus you get to enjoy bus, boat and train ride on the same day. I wish I remembered the name of my tour guide but unfortunately I’m bad with names but he was a fantastic guy very passionate, knowledgeable and experienced all his recommendations were 10/10 be it about having breakfast at a restaurant or shopping or having gelato. Also the lunch included is very good

Beautiful place wrong tour
Nelly_N
, Aug 2022
We arrive 10 mins late and the bus left, which I understand and my complaint is not about that, my problem was that I had to make more than 2 international calls and the customer service number takes you to a machine with music and no one answered! We spent half of the day trying to catch up with them. My complaint is that there should be a way to contact the tour guide directly, to make things easier. Cinque Terre, itself is a gorgeous place but it was over 40•C so it was very hard to enjoy! Everyone (locals) say that you should visit in October or end of April, why no one tells you that?!

Seemed like we were on one uncomfortable, over crowded train or transport boat the entire time Imagine ridiculous heat
James_C
, Aug 2022
Extremely stressful, extremely hot, overcrowded traveling on public transport trains filled to sardine capacity with small intervals of sightseeing until the next overcrowded train sweating from head to toe and you’ll get a good picture. There were nice places and the Mediterranean was clear as glass and beautiful to swim but our time there was cut short by an hour so that felt rushed and stressful as well. This was not for me, but maybe you the reader are interested in this sort of thing.

You have to go there!
Dawn_S
, Aug 2022
The image of the little villages spotted at different levels against the mountains that you see in photos is exactly as they are in real life--awe-inspiring! Quaint and beautiful with arguably the best gelato we have ever tasted (and we've tasted a LOT!). When (not if)you visit these amazing villages, you have to enjoy the beach and talk to the shopkeepers and find out the story of their lives there--incredible the number whose families date back to the 12th century living there.

Well organised trip to a beautiful part of Italy
Jamie_C
, Jul 2022
Everything was very well organised. We booked the option that excluded lunch and chose to eat at Ely Restaurant in Monterosso and can highly recommend the spaghetti alla vongole. We almost missed out though as we did some shopping first and the restaurants all then got very busy - I suggest you head straight for lunch and then explore the town after. This is a beautiful part of the world and I would love to come back

Long, hot but worh it.
Marylse_W
, Jul 2022
Cinque Terre is beautiful, no discussion. But the trip was very intense due to the long long waits for the extremely busy trains, which more than once were late. And full. And hot! Not much the guides could do, and unfortunately we did not get to go on the boat due to the rough sea. All in all we were glad we visited the villages but it was a long long day. Tabatha was very friendly.

A Must See Tour if You Only Have a Day
Angelica_B
, Jul 2022
Marta, our tour guide was excellent! She explained everything in detail and made sure that everyone in the group is not left behind. She would even stand on top of benches to make sure that we see her when there too many people! Way to go, Marta! This tour is highly recommended because my family would probably be lost most of the day just trying to find the correct platform to use, but Marta and Emilia efficiently made the tour run smoothly. I would skip the lunch offered as there are many seafood choices in the restaurant menu than what was assigned for the tour group (squid salad, pesto pasta and ice cream - small portion). The drive from Florence to La Spezia was also smooth. Thank you, Luca!

Marco is the best guide!
Jessica_F
, Jul 2022
Marco was the BEST guide! His energy, enthusiasm and excitement truly sets him apart from guides. We really enjoyed our time, and appreciated the genuine happiness he brought to the group. Thank you Marco!!! The trip was adequate for the village visits. You can also just stay on the beach for most of the day if you'd like. Its a very flexible trip. We had a bus tire breakdown, and they gave us extra time, later on, to make up for it.
