We took part in an auroral borealis tour with 1st Alaska Tours. Our guide, Joe, was incredibly knowledgeable about where to look, what to look for, and when the lights would appear. While it was chilly, it helped having someone knowledgeable about the region and the folklore surrounding the lights. This was definitely a bucket list item that I was happy to experience.

Despite a less than favorable forecast, we got to see a good Northern Lights show! Our tour guide, Erika, did a great job in getting us to/from Murphy's Dome and in position to see the lights. Only drawback was the extremely annoying people in the tour van who kept going in and out of the van, leaving the door open...this meant cold air kept rushing the van and the dome light stayed on most of the time. Overall, worth the trip
