Great day out!

What a whirlwind mixture of entertainment, history and culture Jim D packed into a twelve hours day! This is a tour on steroids with plenty of photo opportunities, lots of insights into Scotland and gives you loads of ideas for further tours. For movie fans he drops loads of little factoids on everything from Outlander to Harry Potter to Marvel movies and at the same time you get to try and find Nessie.

The beautiful nature never failed to amaze us-Dominic’s knowledge of places to go and spots to visit were impeccable. One more thing to look forward to is Dominic’s hilarious yet history-ladden tales, you’d never get bored while relaxing inside his clean tour van. It’s like listening to a podcast 😊 Highly recommended!

Comfortable and efficient way to see the highlands

It was a very well thought of and informative experience. The whole trip was great, I got to see most of the highlands in the most efficient manner. I learned that Scotland has so many lochs and that these are not lakes, they are lochs. Its not called the lochness lake, its called the lochness. Although we did not have enough time for both lunch and a cruise in the lochness (you can only choose one) it was still a great experience. I chose the cruise and it was very refreshing. Our tourguide was very well versed, entertaining and had so much things to say. Actually, I think he can start a podcast since I have never met anyone who can talk that much the whole trip. Maybe he can also entertain the idea of playing Scottish music (like classical bagpipes) during the trip to keep the momentum high and give him time to keep quiet from time to time. I have nothing against his enthusiasm but I got tired for him talking the whole time. He did know great spots to better appreciate the scenery and everything was just superb! I forgot his name because he said if we were going to make an awful review, he gave a different name which is hilarious. All I remember is he had red hair and had a Scottish accent (like all others from Scotland). Anyway, it was good value for comfort and entertainment. I’m pretty sure he’s not a leprechaun too cause i asked and he said those are from Ireland

Exotic!

I would say, this was the most amazing experience so far. I am pleased to say Andy was amazing, he made the entire tour exciting with his commentary. The scenery was exotic. Anyone can visit them, but what makes this package excellent is time-management and professionalism. They know where to stop and show us best views, timely breaks to make us feel energetic. Best bakeries, and restaurants were on the way. Overall- I am happy to have availed this package. It made me feel I left a piece of my soul in the beauty of Scotland.

Everything was beautiful and every stop was great. I would definitely recommend coming during the summer instead so that you have longer daylight hours. The tour was fantastic and our driver Andy was perfect! Laidback, funny and friendly . overall a very fun trip.

Fantastic Highland Tour

Lizzie was a fantastic tour guide and drove the mini bus amazingly well. Her knowledge was brilliant and she had many great stories to share with us. No reflection on Lizzie or the tour itself but 2 ladies in the group got travel sick even though neither had done so before as some of the roads wind around a lot.

a long day but a great way to get a taste of Highland scenery.

Barney was a great driver and very knowledgable and had the right balance of chat and music. The mini bus was very comfortable with usb chargers. Rabbies were very professional and well organised. Pick up was at a bus stop a minute away from Rabbies cafe. It is a long day but a great way to get a taste of Highland scenery. There is a break every 2 hrs. We stopped at Calendar first (the tour operates in the other direction in the summer) it is small but there are several cafes. Next stop was the amazing views in Glencoe. We had several photo stops the main one at the three sisters - the benefit of going out of season is time/space for more stops. Glencoe Visitor centre is great with cafe, shop and display. We also had a stop to view the Nevis range. The trip allows for approx 1hr40mins in Loch Ness/Fort Augustus. They aim to get there by 1.30 ready for a cruise at 2 for an hour. The cruise was fun and informative - definitely worth doing. It was very calm when we were there. There is a bar and toilets on board open and undercover seating. It cost £16 and you pay the Rabbies driver. You can grab take away lunch from cafes or fish n chips in Fort Augustus and take food on the boat. There are a few shops and a display on the Caledonian canel in the village. On the return to Edinburgh we stopped at Pitlochry which was lovely, lots of shops and a few restaurants. A great corner shop selling ice cream - including whisky ice cream! We had 40mins there - it was a shame the shops were shut on Sunday evening. This is the first stop in the summer. The trip back to Edinburgh went over the Forth Bridge - we were back by 7.30pm.

A great tour but not with this guide!

This tour would have been amazing; in a day you get to see some of the most beautiful scenery on a very well thought out tour itinerary. However our tour guide Ally, whilst a pleasant enough man, ruined the day for us with his incessant talking for the entirety of the 13 hour trip. HE DID NOT STOP TALKING FOR 12 HOURS, not once (other than to inflict his poor musical choices upon us - even as bad as it the music was, those few minutes felt like a blessing). It was like torture and put us in a really bad mood. It wasn't even about Scotland or the tour content most of the time - the real low point was when he spent about 10 minutes just naming people called 'Ben', for reasons unknown as I had long since chopped my own ears off. With a different guide this would be a definite recommendation but sadly in this case we left grumpy and needing to spend the rest of evening in absolute silence.
