Meet your driver-tour escort and small tour group at the Piazza della Repubblica in central Florence. Board a comfortable tour vehicle and depart for Cinque Terre, a collection of five postcard-perfect fishing hamlets that hug a rugged coastal stretch of the Italian Riviera.

Travel through Tuscany and into the Liguria region for your initial stop in the village of Manarola. Pause for fantastic photo ops of the coastline and the cerulean ocean beyond, then stroll through the narrow alleys and quaint squares of the town itself, one of the oldest in Cinque Terra. Sip a glass or two of the region's famous wines at a charming local wine bar (own expense). 

Departing Manarola, meet your tour escort at a prearranged location to board your boat to Vernazza. During your scenic boat journey, sit back and view the coast gliding by with rolling hills as the backdrop. 

Go ashore in Vernazza after cruising through the picturesque open harbor. Use your free time to walk around, visit the village's castle and church. Stop at one of the many waterfront restaurants for a traditional Italian lunch (own expense).

Following your time in Vernazza, climb into a tour vehicle for a drive through picturesque Corniglia before returning to your starting point.

Our original tour guide who was supposed to arrive at 8::00 did not. I called all the numbers I had but no one would answer the phone. I finally found a # from a text you sent me and someone answered. She was very rude and said it was my fault that no one showed up and I had not called her even though I had tried to call on every listed # but no one answered. In a few minutes She called me back to say that the driver did have an emergency and they were sending another driver. Stefano was the back up driver and he was excellent. But we had already missed 1 1/2 hours of our tour. We had to get back by 6:00 for another commitment so could not extend the tour. The tour was quite good but we only got to see 2 of the 3 towns. Stefano offered to take us to the third town but we did not have enough time. We enjoyed the short boat trip and the landscape was beautiful. Stefano was very knowledgeable and professional. It was a 10 hour tour but we missed 1 1/2 hours so we feel a 15% refund is reasonable. We have used Viator many times and have always been very happy with your efficiency.

Dear Client, Thank you for your feedback. I had the emergency phone that day and I remember what happened. I don't know which numbers you had tried to call but in our voucher it clearly specifies the emergency number to call in case of issues with the tours outside office hours. I've received the first call about 40 minutes after the start of the tour. At first I candidly asked you why you did call 40 minutes after the start of the tour. Being in business for over 20 years I'm used to deal with emergencies and also at times with clients that arriving late do not take up their responsibilities and blame the operator for a no show. Therefore I'm sorry if I did not seem at first empathetic with you. As soon as I realized the problem was actually on our side , I worked to find a solution - After 2 years of covid, all involved in tourism are in a kind of emergency condition very often due to drivers and guides getting covid and therefore having to reschedule tours - also during covid many drivers and guides have decided to find different jobs and therefore there is a shortage of work force . This is just to give an idea of the backstage issues that we, as operators, go through daily in a post pandemic year. In regards to the loss of time, I fully understand as by the time you contacted and the time for the driver to arrive, you left about 1 hr later. On the other hand, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the tour and the driver/guide and that most of all you got to see the Cinque Terre. It’s a pity you had to return earlier as our driver would have made up happily for the time loss. I will advise Viator to offer a partial refund as a compensation for what happen. What an incredible trip! Our driver Gianni was kind, knowledgeable, and a master at navigating the roads through busy Firenze and windy Cinque Terre. We were in a small group and ultimately it almost felt like a private tour. Cinque Terre is well worth the visit with the beautiful landscape and charming shops. This tour made it easy, filling it with fun memories and great conversation. I could not recommend booking this trip with Gianni enough! Ask for him, he’s the best!

We loved this tour! We went on this tour to have a more personal experience than a large bus. There were only two other people on the tour, and Jonathan was our excellent guide. He was very proficient in English and provided a lot of interesting information. He was extremely knowledgable about the areas we travelled through, from history to geography to food. Cinque Terre is an amazing area, just like you see in pictures! The weather was very rainy and foggy, making it less desirable to see the usual number of villages in Cinque Terre, so Jonathan suggested we make up for it with a visit to Pisa, which was such a great addition to the day. We would highly recommend this tour; the extra cost was worth it! Thank you again to our guide!

An exceptional touring experience

The morning of the tour, we learned the trip to Cinque Terra was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions - know that all trips there can be cancelled when there are hard rains in that region. Our guide, Giacomo, offered instead a tour of towns in Tuscany - and I’m so glad we agreed. He put together a fabulous itinerary that took us first to Piazzale Michaelangelo where we could snap pictures of Florence. Then onto San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Siena. He made reservations for us at a wonderful restaurant in Siena and dropped us off at the door. We ended the day with a late afternoon tasting at Monteranaldi Winery. The cities were all amazing - each a different look at the beauty of Italy. Giacomo, though, made the trip very special. He shared his unending historical knowledge of the cities and people throughout the tour and included guidance for us on what to see in each city. He even stopped at each city’s visitor’s bureau and picked us up maps to use on our wanderings. We did have to sit in a traffic jam on the way back and the van had some mechanical issues, but the tour group sent another van to pick us up and delivered us back to Florence. These things happen. Thank you, Giacomo - we’d tour anywhere with you again.
