Hungarian wine is simply amazing!

A wonderful evening spent sipping wine and learning about wine history within Hungary. Not a typical tasting where you swirl wine around and look at its legs and try to guess what notes you are tasting, this was much more casual and a lot more fun. We were presented the various wines and provided some info and then given time to sip and snack on our charcuterie at our own pace while getting to know the other guest on the tour. We even stayed late and ordered a couple bottles for the table to share as we were all enjoying each others company. I also purchased two bottles to take home and wish they shipped to my current location as the wines were delicious, and i could've easily purchased 6+ bottles.

It was a great experience. Learned a lot about the regions and history in a beautiful cellar. The pours we're generous and the wine was really delicious - especially the whites (and I typically prefer red wines). It was with a small group and we all appreciated each other's company and hung out after.

Good start for wine lovers who want to know more about Hungarian wines. Tour took little over 2 hours. Not a lot of food, but varied and of good quality. Host was knowledgeable, patient and passionate about Hungarian wines. One sparkling, 3 whites, 3 reds and one Tokaj. Tasting room is slightly outside city center, but within walking distance. At the end of the tour there was an opportunity to buy wines, but there was no product pushing. Tour offers value for money.

We really enjoyed the setting, the tables were so nicely arranged. Also the wines were delicious and we had cheeses and meats to compliment them perfectly. The lady teacher was very good and obviously passionate about her subject. Would highly recommend this tasting.

I was extremely happy with this experience. It was a small group, So we were able to really talk with the guide about the wines and freely ask questions. We learned a lot about Hungarian wine and were able to sample a nice variety of wines. They also had wine/cheese/breads to try with the wines that added to the experience. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys wine, regardless of their actual wine knowledge.

I love wine so what better way to spend my first night in Budapest than tasting local fine wines. Even though I arrived 40 mins early I was warmly welcomed and shown to my seat. Before I had even sat down I was poured a glass of wine and offered some very tasty bread and oils. They very kindly charged my mobile phone as it was almost dead. The tasting was superb. Our guide was very knowledgeable, you could see his passion for wine. The cheeseboards that accompanied the wines were expertly picked. I was offered a discount and took home two of my favorites along with one of the oils, they bubble wrapped my purchases to ensure they arrive safely back to my destination. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. I just loved what I tasted. All in all a beautiful evening

This was one of the best wine tasting experiences I have had (thanks, Tamas!). Tamas talked continuously for almost 2 hours while the three of us sampled what I think it was 7 wines, including a sparkling white wine. He went over the history of Hungarian wines, the various regions, the types of grapes they produce, the methods of production and more. It was everything you ever wanted or needed to know about Hungarian wines but didn't know what to ask! With some sample cheeses and meats, the wines were magnificent. I felt so much more knowledgeable, but not overwhelmed by the presentation. It was quite satisfying, and when I went on two other wine tours, it helped me understand the context of Hungarian wines. This tour is sponsored by the Tasting Table, which I highly recommend. Try to do this one upon arrival in Budapest so you can enjoy the right kind of wine with your dinner.
