Omaha Afternoon Half Day Tour to Visit the Landing Areas at Omaha Beach

Amazing. It hit each of our must sees as we did not have much time in Normandy. Charles was great and very knowledgeable. Made us want to book a full day!

Our guide Pierre was super knowledgeable in regards to WW2 and the Battle of Normandy. We had a wonderful trip to the key D Day sites and the American Cemetary.

Thierry gave us an exceptional experience with his knowledge of history, comprehensiveness of coverage of the territory, personal story telling, friendly interaction, safe driving and concern for our comfort.

A brilliant afternoon with an expert guide who really knew his stuff. He was on time, even a little early. Took us to Longues-sur-Mer for an introductory talk to set the scene and to prepare us for what was to come. The Omaha Beach experience will live long in the memory and filled us with awe at the courage and tenacity of the troops involved and the sacrifices made. We arrived at the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer just in time for the 4pm daily lowering of the Stars and Stripes to the sound of a military lament. The wall to the missing was explained and the impressive memorial shown to us. The sight of the many white crosses marking the graves of the fallen brought a poignant reminder of 'Saving Private Ryan'. Then we were taken to Pointe du Hoc and told about the scaling of the sheer cliff by US Rangers - given orders to complete their climb in half an hour; truly awesome. Our amazing guide deserves the plaudits he will undoubtedly receive from visitors following in our footsteps.
