Depart from Bayeux in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and travel along the picturesque Norman coast to Pointe du Hoc, a German battery devastated by US soldiers on D-Day. Listen as your guide offers fascinating narration of the bloody battles that occurred here, and then capture photographs of fortification remnants blown to pieces by destructive bombs.

Return to the vehicle for the short drive to Omaha Beach and delve into the dramatic procession of D-Day events that unfolded on this beach. Stop at two points at either end of the sandy stretch to appreciate the scale of the expanse and then head to Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial to pay tribute to fallen American soldiers. Good Balance of Guided Tour & Free Time

We had a fabulous tour of the Normandy Beaches, including Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American cemetery. Our guide was extremely informative, but there was also a nice amount of free time to explore these sites a bit on our own. I would highly recommend for a memorable, moving, and stress-free experience.

Incredible. We learned so much more from this tour than we would have learned on our own.

Guide Christophe was incredibly knowledgeable, we learnt so much from him, and he could answer literally any question we had about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Seeing the Pointe du Hoc, where the Rangers scaled the cliff, and the American Cemetery, where so many young men (and several young women) are buried, was incredibly poignant. Omaha Beach itself was also very memorable. My 13-year-old boys and I loved this tour and are so glad we did it instead of visiting on our own.

We learned a lot about the D-day invasion that we were not aware of. It was a great lesson in a short amount of time. Guide was excellent. Weather was quite hot but that can’t be controlled.

I did this tour as a solo traveler in early March which is the best time to go (no crowds) and I learned so much from the experience. The tour guide was very nice and had a lot of insightful information there was definitely some things I did not know about WW2. If you have the chance, please do this tour so much valuable information not to mention the experience. Going through the small town in Northern France from the train station to the pickup location on foot was definitely one of the easiest things I will always remember from this trip.

D-Day tour - American sites
Patrick_R
, Jun 2022
We met our tour guide Francois and he took us on tour of 3 D-Day sites featuring the American military. We went to Point-Du-Hoc where we saw a German artillery bunker, then to Omaha Beach to understand why this landing site was so difficult, then to the American cemetery. Francois was knowledgeable and enlightening. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour

No communication - and canceled my reservation

Found out the morning I was leaving for tour that my tour was canceled with no notice. Fortunately was able to rebook with a Normandy tour from a company called overlord tours. 4 other people on our small tour had their tours canceled too. Would not use the viator company for Normandy tours. Unless they get 20 people they cancel. We were able to tour with 6 people for 70 euros. Had a great experience with overlord tours

Dear Phillip, I am sorry to hear about your bad experience but unless I am wrong,I think you posted this review to the wrong company as our tours run with a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 8 people per van. We are not Viator, in fact Viator isn't a company but a platform where lots of company advertise their tours. Could you please send us your booking reference in order to double check who you booked this tour with? Or your last name with the date of the tour? Kind regards Morgane - Assistant Director at Normandy Signtseeing Tours

This was a wonderful tour to learn about the events leading up to and during D-Day. Coupled with walking along and seeing the actual sites made the experience that much more meaningful. I especially enjoyed visiting the cemetery at the end and watching the lowering of the flags and taps. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Normandy Beaches. Our guide, Julie, was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor and fun personality. She brought the dramatic information to life - you could tell that she was captivated by her subject. The American cemetery was beautiful. It was a very meaningful and moving tour.

Learning the history of what took place and the courage and bravery of the fighting allied forces. The efforts to keep the bomb craters in their original condition is recognized and appreciated, this gives visitors an opportunity to see first hand the impact of this significant event.
