Private Excursion to Maeklong​ Railway and​ Floating Markets

What a great half day+ tour. our guide Harry and driver Mr. Mai were fantastic and thought of every detail. Harry new all the local in’s and outs and how to avoid crowds. We enjoyed learning about the local culture and highly recommend. In addition, a heavy emphasis is placed on COVID safety which was truly appreciated by our family.

Harry and Mario (Mr. O) were great guides for the railway and floating markets. It was nice to see these experiences with guides that were familiar with where to stop and what to see. Mr. Harry had a lot of great stories and tried desparately to keep my very-bored teen from being too obnoxious. I could tell that both the railway and the floating markets had suffered the effects of COVID in that they weren't as full with tourists or vendors! The latter meant we could see everything in a short time. We had a wonderful time!

Harry was wonderful. Very knowledgeable of Thailand history as well as the tour destinations. He was full of energy and loved taking our pictures throughout the day which he eagerly shared with us at the end of the tour. We took a James Bond boat ride to the floating markets which was a blast. Being inches away from the railway was exhilarating. It was remarkable to see the all the vendors quickly break down and just as quickly put up their tents and stands to accommodate the train which comes through 8 times a day. If you get Harry you will be guaranteed a fun day. This was a great tour.

What an amazing excursion! Sawong was our guide for the day and we felt so honored to have him with us. He was truly the highlight of the trip! He took us to the train station so that we could actually ride the train into the market and see it from a different perspective (which was so fun) we then walked around the railway market and he showed us all the fun stalls, described the food and laughed and joked with us the whole time! We then went to get on the longboat which was a nice break in the day. We thought that we would actually float through the markets but, full disclosure you do not. You get out of the longboat and walk the market. At first we were disappointed but seeing how busy it was on the river and that we could eat and buy easier on land we were fine just watching! We then ended up in a fun outdoor style restaurant for Pad Thai before heading home. I would highly recommend this excursion!

Our tour with guide Pong was excellent. We booked a private tour and it was really nice to have only the three of us to keep track of, as the markets and the Maeklong Railway are very crowded. I especially liked all the treats he bought for us, letting us sample many of the local foods--which would have been difficult for us to do--not knowing the language. He provided lots of information, was very knowledgeable and attentive--good pace and all in all, a very enjoyable tour.

Susie was an outstanding guide for my wife and I. Susie and the driver did an excellent job taking us to everything on the itinerary and explaining the culture. We rode the train and saw a lot of markets. She was excellent and I would recommend this trip to anyone that has never been to Thailand and is looking for a nice trip to fill up half a day. This lasted about 6 hours.

The floating market is much too crowded. The boat driver sped through the canals much to fast. The guides English was difficult to understand.

Our tour guide met us at the hotel, with a welcome gift. From start to finish it was an exciting day, thanks to our wonderful guide!

Siri was just amazing! Best tour guide ever. Our kids loved her. The markets were nice, the AC vehicle super comfortable.
