Erawan Waterfalls-Death Railway & River Kwai Tour

Overall the tour was excellent. The pick up driver was rude and ignorant not telling us anything we were cramped into small minivan for quite a long journey. When we got to bridge we were rushed to see bridge no time to appreciate it. Then changed vans with different driver and a guide so got better waterfalls were very nice a bit less time there and a bit extra at bridge would have been better. The train was really good. On way back guide got off van without saying a word. Got back to Bangkok changed vans, had same ignorant driver we had first thing in morning to take us back to hotel who sat watching TV on a tablet while driving back through busy traffic in Bangkok. The things we saw was excellent. The transport and staff and organisation was bad.

Lots of fun, could have been better if lunch was in a proper restaurant not a plate of street food, considering the paid price. Nevertheless I strongly recommended if one is reasonably fit.

The Erawan waterfalls is excellent . I advice those with youngster or who like to have a good swim ,should just target for the tour to Erawan waterfalls only . As there are seven waterfall and alt least 3 having safe and big pool which you can relax and enjoyed there for 30min on each fall . Waliking up and down already take you at least two hours ,it may take you longer depend on trail condition as certain part may be muddy and with water or rocky . With this tour you need to rush back to meeting point for lunch by 1:40, It is normal you reach there already closed to 11am due to traffic and pick up . So you just left with only 40 min to swim and changing . If you just join the the tour only for Erawan water fall ,then you can stay at water fall until 3:30 pm . It would be good for this tour which blended in with Death River can start one hour earlier .

I definitely would recommend to take a look, but would recommend a tour from BKK. You are all the time in a crowded minivan. 3 hours to get there and 3 hours back. The time to take a good look isn't there. It seems that you are in a hurry al the time.

Let me start with the positives. Erawan Falls was beautiful and for the brief time we spent at Death Railway and Bridge over the River Kwai it was worth the visit. Negatives: The driving to and from these sites was a nightmare. The driver was watching Youtube videos, taking mobile phone calls while travelling at over 120 km/h and he didn't speak a word of english. There was no guide until we picked one up 3 hours into the trip. The guide could speak english, but we were not provided any information on the significance of these sites. The driving component was 10 hours and visiting the attractions was 4 hours. We sat on the side of the road waiting to pick up other passengers from different tours for more than 30 minutes and the driver was rude and ignored our complaints. You couldn't call it a tour, it was a road trip from hell.
