Meet your guide outside the Tourist Office of Avignon.

This activity will end right where it started.
Your 5-hour tour of Provence’s stone monuments and historic towns begins with morning or afternoon pickup by minivan from your Avignon hotel. Enjoy picturesque views of the Provençal countryside as you arrive at your first stop, Saint-Rémy-De-Provence, to see ‘Les Antiques,’ a funeral monument and triumphal arch from the time of Augustus.

Next, head south to the Les Baux de Provence – a fortified medieval village perched in Alpilles mountain range. Meander through the narrow stone streets of the historic center, viewing the town's many original 16th-century houses and main attractions such as the Museum of Santons, the Hôtel des Porcelets and St Vincent Church. Afterward, travel to your final stop, the UNESCO-listed Pont du Gard. Considered an ancient work of art, this three-tiered construction is the highest of all elevated Roman aqueducts. View the perfectly preserved masterpiece of ancient engineering that once supplied water to the town of Nîmes.

Your tour ends with return to your hotel in Avignon.

Not found by a tour guide while we were waiting at the meeting point. Short visits at each place. My 7yo son and I needed to run from a car park at Pont du Gard where we started free time if we wanted to cross the aqueduct. Then, my son vomited. Eventually, we arrived back at the first meeting point where we started the tour one hour earlier than the itinerary online told us. I got an impression we had an "organised" tour to let the guide go home early. (I know roads weren't busy this time)

Too little time in St. Remy and in Les Baux de Provence; Too much time at Pont du Gard.

, Jul 2022
There is only one site that is visited in St. Remy (the Roman Ruins of Glanum). The rest is a fast drive through the rest of the main street of the town. Please add an hour to this portion of the tour so that one can at least take a short stroll through St. Remy or have time to visit the institution where Van Gogh committed himself or visit the home of Nostradamus . Regarding the Pont du Gard stop, more than sufficient time was provided here. Additionally, adding more time to the Les Baux de Provence stop would be optional. There was no time to visit the castle there; only a short time to wander through the town. My suggestion is to make this tour a full day tour instead of a half day tour, thus providing more time in St. Remy and at Les Baux de Provence.

A great afternoon tour, with enough time to wander the village and take in the sites. Our guide was personable and provided plenty of information about the area, but allowed us the freedom to move about.

Just excellent way to visit the overall area in the beginning of our vacation. Jeremy was excellent. We all enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot. We then went back to key areas where we wanted to spend more time. Many thanks to Jeremy. Nelson Burns

We had a great time. Melanie's driving was excellent. Her knowledge of the region was very good. She was friendly and funny. The countryside was very pretty. We only wish we could have had a longer time maybe 10 minutes extra in the Pont du Gard and in Les Baux. Those sites are very touristy and since the streets in Les Baux are so narrow, it took time to get to the castle. By the time we made it there, we felt that we would not have had enough time to visit it. So we turned back.

The day was perfect.... The drive was delightful, our guide was knowledgable, friendly, and engaging. His obvious love of the country and the art of Van Gogh, made the trip that much more meaningful.

Terrible driver Emily from Provence Reservation. First she was late which she blamed her colleague. Then she came with wrong equipment so she blamed her company. The tour started an hour late. She didn't control the time at each stop. Instead, she chose not to drop everyone off at hotels in the end.

This was our first tour leaving from Avignon, and both of them got off to a late start. They seem to underestimate the traffic and the time needed to pick up everyone at various hotels. Our tour guide had some interesting information, and overall it was a decent way to see some of the sites in the area without renting a car. However, I would not use this company again due to other experiences.

We were able to see the sights, but felt rushed. At Pont du Gard, we were not given the information that the aqueduct was not accessible. So some of us hiked to where the opening of the aqueduct and the entrance to walk across was closed. We proceeded to hike to the other side, and ran up the hill due to limited time and discovered that it was closed too. Florin, our tourist guide, although look tire, was helpful and trying her best to give us information about the places while driving to the places at a fast speed. At Les Baux, one either see the palace or have lunch, one cannot do both. No personal stories or connection to each of the passenger. However, if you just want to see the places because the distance is itself too far, this is 3 star tour.

The guide is such a nice girl however her instruction didn't give out too clearly. One of the place meant to spend 5, 10 mins for a photo then some people walked further down away to Saint Remy town. We waited there for 40 mins and had to skip the next place then back to Avignon.

We had a wonderful half day tour of Pont du Gard, Les Baux and the Saint Remy area in April 2014. We were picked up by our friendly tour guide, Marie in the morning and made our way to Pont du Gard. After being given time to walk around and take in the views, she drove us to Les Baux and we had time to walk around and shop and have a quick lunch. Les Baux is a 'must-see.' Then we toured the area surrounding Saint Remy which includes ancient ruins (Glanum). Marie was a great guide, full of facts about the area. We found out that other people on the tour had signed up for the whole day, which goes on to the Luberon area, but this half day tour was perfect for us. I like the fact that we received a lot of communication from Viator prior to the trip confirming that our tour was coming up and reminded us to print out our vouchers. Highly organized and efficient. I absolutely recommend it!

This tour is awesome! From the ancient town near Van Gogh's hospital, to the quaint and ancient town of Les Baux and inspiring Pont du Gard - it made for a relaxing and informative trip through the countryside.

A good tour that give you a basic overview of some of the highlights of the area. Les Baux is a beautiful hill-top town, Pont du Gard is amazing and St Remy is nice. It is an overview, so not too much time spent at any one place, where you could spend at least a half day at each.

Well planned trip with excellent guide. Small group of 9 of us. I would have liked more time at the Pont du Gard - it was rather rushed. Pick up and drop off at hotel a bonus.

Time for Pont du Gard is too short for us but we have plenty of time for Saint Remy.....As we are not the fans for Vincent van Gogh, we need to wait at the hospital for 15 min. The visit for Les Baux de Provence is nice.

Julian, Did and excellent job. He wason time, bright, very knowledgeable and knew his wy very well. The tour covered a lot of ground. My only compliant is that your itinerary needs to have more guide participation, guiding like walking with group. I enjoyed the freedom.

It was nice. However, we did wish to see Nostradamas' house and were told "there's no time." But then when we got finished with Pont du Gard, we were told we were early and we had to now kill time. That was annoying. Instead we chose to go back to the hotel. I just wish the tour was a little better.
