Tour guide useless
Robert_A
, Jun 2022
Tour guide was not helpful at all. She just giggled and provided useless dribble. I would have expected her to explain about essentials, such as water, toilets, and garment requirements. She volunteered nothing helpful, and when asked she gave wrong information. Garment requirements were very unclear and we had to purchase scarves for the women to wear. I cannot recommend your tour company.

We left Athens at 8am and arrived at 1230pm to Meteora. It was well organized, short trip but sweet. Departed meterora at 630pm and arrived Athens at 1120pm This is more than a 15 hour trip for us and when I returned to the hotel I have to take a more than 8 hour rest/sleep. Amazing monasteries !

Crazy trip

The trip it self was good. We had to travel on a train 4 hrs to get to the meeting point. The bus was pretty warm but the sights were amazing. We met great people and restaurants. The town is lovely. So when we were going to the train station, the train was broken, we were told to come back in 1 1/2 he and we would leave , well then everyone was gone. They told us it wasn’t going to be fixed till tomorrow. Not a choice, we had plans in Athens. So we had to take a taxi 355 kilometers. Loved the driver, 100 miles an hr. I’m sure it doesn’t happen every day but, it was a adventure.

Great tour but be prepared!! Long day, lots of stairs (26 flights), if it’s hot… hat, water, light clothing, personal fan. Flat sandles w rubber sole or sport shoe. Women, light, long dress w scarf or sleeves.

Great tour and a MUST visit if you are in Athens!

The experience was brilliant. Right from the start to the end, the tour guide kept us providing information about the place. If you are in Athens, this tour is a must and gives a different perspective of the country. So glad that we booked and found something else to add to our memory of Greece. The tour was very well organized and the tour company made every effort to connect with the tourists and give them maximum information. Highly recommended and you will definitely not be disappointed.

The views are exceptional at Meteora! The train ride is long about 4hrs each way, and be prepared to climb a lot of stairs...phew! Wear comfortable shoes.

We had a fantastic trip to Meteora. The pictures that you see online do not do justice to the area. You have to be there in person to appreciate it. Our guide did a great job is showing us everything plus many secret places that only locals know. Top ever organized tour by the travel company. If you go to Greece, you must go to Meteora

Amazing. Worth the long train ride.

Van was a bit tight and tour director did not have a microphone. With air ventilation noise it was difficult to hear the dialog. We did not receive a map of Meteoura. Tour guide, as described in literature does not give a tour inside the monastery, so keep that in mind in case that is important to you. Otherwise, all was good. Highly recommend.

Beautiful experience with a small asterisk

The whole town and experience is a 5 star for sure. There are so many breath taking moments that I lost count. The rock structures and the monasteries are fantastic. There is only one caveat, you have to be in shape to do all of the monasteries. There are a lot of stairs, when I say a lot I'm not kidding. They varied in steepness and how shallow they were but if you are not in shape you will have to pass on this. The company that does the tour is very accommodating and knowledgeable. We had a great tour guide who took us to watch some very cool caves. Overall a great experience. Make sure you bring snacks because the train tide is long and you won't be eating until 5pm at the very least. The Kalabaka town was the cutest thing I've seen with very friendly people. Highly recommended tour if you are in shape and can handle the stairs.

The amount of time spent on two monasteries was approachable. The views were breath taking. The guide was nice and knowledgeable. She offered to take photos.
