Do not do the Acropolis without this tour!
, Oct 2021
Our tour guide, Ellie, was absolutely fantastic. There is so much that may go unseen or unknown by doing something like this by yourself. It was the perfect length of time and there were plenty of stops along the way. The information given taught us so much, but didn't overwhelm us. I don't think I have ever gotten so many facts that actually spill over into my every day life. Ellie was incredible sweet, knowledgeable, patient, and one of the best tour experiences we had. Do not do the acropolis without this tour!

Winning tour

The tour with Natasha was great. She has lots of knowledge and has a wondeful way of telling the story of the acropolis. With her we saw many details that we couldn't have seen alone. We took the 1.5 hour tour which was detailed and sufficient. We were a small grup which was very good. I highly recomend to take the tour.

If you'd like an in depth perspective on Greek mythology, then take this tour. If you'd like to learn anything about the Acropolis, it's history and it's architecture, do yourself a favor and find another tour.

Dear Joan, thank you for your feedback. We always welcome challenging reviews, since in most cases, they can be used to improve and optimize the experiences we offer. However, we feel that we have to point out the following: Acropolis of Athens is an ancient marvel of the world which is not merely connected to mythology but is literally inseparable from mythology. Speaking about the Acropolis and explaining its history and architecture, which our guides have been skillfully doing for the past 15 years, without also speaking about the myths associated with its existence is like explaining rain without mentioning anything about clouds. Perhaps for a person living in the 21st century, this is something difficult to grasp, but as historian Michael Grant has stated, "The myths told by the Greeks are as important as history for our understanding of what these people, ancestors of our own civilization, believed and thought and felt, and expressed in writing and visual art. For their mythologies were inextricably intertwined, to an extent far beyond anything in our experience." Our guides apart from licensed and knowledgeable professionals are also far too experienced for such a slip. They know exactly what information to share and how to effectively synopsize centuries-long history in less than two hours. The Parthenon is a miracle of architecture and engineering, but cutting it out of the mythological tales that surround it, is like stripping it off the true essence of its history. Thank you once again for your review, and we hope we have perhaps challenged you to rethink mythology from a different perspective.
A fun and balanced tour

Our guide (Evita) was educational, professional, and engaging. She provided the right level of detail for the time and the tour had a good pace with the right highlights. A great way to learn about the Acropolis and a wonderful guide!
