Your full-day Aruba 4x4 adventure takes you to two of the island’s most popular coastal sites: the Natural Pool and Baby Beach. Start with hotel pickup in the morning for the ride to the tour operator’s base, where you meet your guide for a safety briefing before taking off in a caravan of Land Rovers.

Take a seat in your open-air vehicle—designed with extra-cushioned seats for a comfortable ride—and set out toward Arikok National Park, a protected preserve that makes up almost 20 percent of the island. En route, stop for photo ops of historical and natural landmarks including the California Lighthouse on Aruba’s northern end. Hear about the island’s gold-prospecting days at the Gold Mill Ruins and view Natural Bridge, a limestone formation on the northeast coast that collapsed in 2005.

Around midday, enjoy a homemade barbecue lunch and then continue to traverse rugged terrain through the national park to the Natural Pool, a coastal swimming hole accessible only to 4WD vehicles. With free time here, snap on your provided snorkel and mask to explore the pool formed by volcanic rock, and refresh with a cool beverage.

Departing the Natural Pool, travel by Land Rover to Baby Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of shoreline located on Aruba’s southern coast. Enjoy more free time to relax at this Caribbean paradise, using your snorkeling gear to explore the marine life in the shallow, tranquil waters.

On the way back to your hotel, stop at a few other cultural landmarks including the Alto Vista Chapel and Anchor in Memory of All Seamen for a few photo opportunities.

Later when the refinery opened in San Nicolas, Aruba started to receive mega-tankers to load and unload mostly crude and derivatives. As a recognition of the sailors and marine history, the anchor was placed. The contrast and backdrop are stunning and certainly a must see. Picture Opportunity

Aruba Baby!!!

PLEASE READ... The ride will get bumpy! If you are prone to motion sickness, have back problems, or are generally just grumpy about off-roading, then you may want to reconsider this tour. My husband and I loved it! Our driver Curtis was confident, funny, and genuine. Uncle Johnny shared with the entire group his passion for Aruba and it's history throughout the 10 hour day, and it was fun and knowledgeable. First half of the day we saw the rugged and beautiful eastern coastline with natural bridge, gold mining, chapel, lighthouse, and lots and lots of cactus. It was hot hot hot, so pack sunscreen and drink up the water provided. Lunch is back at headquarters in a shaded patio and was quite good. The BBQ chicken was a favorite among most. Second half of the day is when the journey gets even more bumpy... Start with a drive to the natural pool with a dip and snorkel (30 min). Note that it was about 100 stone steps down (and back up in that hot sun again) and a bit slippery getting into the pool. Staff will help you get in and out of the pool. Snorkeling was just ok... It's a lot smaller then it looks and with 25-30 people from the tour felt crowded. The experience was still fun, but if you have been to other natural pools (ie. Queens Bath in Kauai), you may be somewhat underwhelmed. Back on the road to the caves with petroglyphs, and I'd say this was likely my favorite part of the whole day! Make sure you bring your phone for light and pics. Again, my biggest complaint was the number of people in the tour made it feel overly crowded with everyone jammed in all at once. Perhaps covid has changed my perception of what is overly crowded, or maybe it was just too many people. Finally, the day ends with 45 min at baby beach, which was a great way to relax at the end of a busy day.

Loved the excursion despite the rain

Guess what it rains in Aruba. Despite the rain, our tour was awesome! The guide Jeyson, Evo, and JP were incredible. They took great care of us. Cave exploring was cool and they shared a good history of the island during the trip. Rain stopped in time to snorkel at baby beach. Lots of fish. Great excursion to see the entire island.

A must do while in Aruba

Some people suggested renting a car and doing your own tour. I am so glad we did this tour. We got extra stops and the driver was extremely knowledgeable and experienced with driving through the off road terrain. There is no way we would have enjoyed or learned as much as we did. It was the perfect tour to learn about Aruba.
