This was a great tour of the Vimy...

This was a great tour of the Vimy Ridge - the memorial, tunnels, and trenches. I took the full day tour but you have the option of doing only the morning tour for Vimy Ridge. There were only three people on our tour and then myself for the afternoon. We arrived at the Vimy memorial very early in the day and were the first to arrive so we had it to ourselves for a good half hour before other big tour groups started to arrive. Next we did the preserved tunnels and trenches at the Vimy centre. We stopped at several cemeteries, including a Canadian and German cemetery plus the cemetery where Canada took back an unknown solider for their memorial in Ottawa. We also went to the Arras underground tunnels where 24,000 soldiers waited for days for the Battle of Arras part of Vimy Ridge. It was a great tour of WW1 trenches and cemeteries. Highly recommend.
