In June 2006, Cole Island was officially recognized as a national historic site. It was designated part of a “National Historic District” by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada. The district is considered to be the “most complete site of Royal Naval activity and infrastructure in the Commonwealth”. Cole Island is a peaceful place where visitors are welcome to come and enjoy the site located in the quiet waters at the end of Esquimalt Harbour. The island is open from sun-up to sun-down. Please heed warning signs and make sure you pack your garbage out!

Join on this 8km round trip hike through our coastal rain forest. Emerge on top of the bluff overlooking Seymour Narrows and the site of the historic Ripple Rock explosion. Tour includes transportation from our office, lunch on the bluff, and an experienced guide and naturalist. Let our guide share knowledge of the local history. This is a moderate hike, trail is well maintained, however there are some fairly steep hills, and uneven terrain. Comfortable hiking shoes and water are required.

On this full day adventure, we explore the waters of the Salish Sea, Discovery Passage, and Johnstone Strait. This tour gives us the luxury of time and is designed for those individuals who want to see as much as they can in one single day. With a focus on finding Orca, the extended day means that we can spend quality time with all of the wildlife, like Humpback Whales, Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, Bears, Sea Lions, and much more that our spectacular area has to offer.

Gods Pocket is an exceptional area to explore and to seek out wildlife viewing opportunities. The deep upwelling of cold water and currents offer plenty of food to our larger marine mammals including the Northern Resident Orcas, Humpback whales and Stellar Sea Lions. Knowing the times of the currents and having local knowledge is incredibly valuable to maximize our flow with these currents and to position ourselves to view wildlife without interfering in their behaviours. Highlights in the area are most definitely the high probability of whale sighting and exploring parts of the Marine Park.

This tour is unique to ISLAND TIME TOURS here on Vancouver Island. Our destination: The Kinsol Trestle is one of eight trestles along the Cowichan Valley Trail route. One of the tallest free-standing and most spectacular timber rail trestle structures in the world. At 187 metres in length and standing 44 metres above the salmon bearing Koksilah River. We'll park our bikes and find a nice place for lunch. Plenty of time to explore the trestle. Another great picture. The curved trestle among the forest really is something to see. total distance approximately 12K or ~7 miles each way, We will tackle both ways but not before you've had time to stretch, rest,enjoy lunch and explore the trestle.You can do it! Or if everyone prefers one way we can do that too. Driver/guide will leave group at lunch and move vehicle to closer pickup location if one way. We've installed best of the market bike racks, platform style.Designed for NOVICE riders, all skill levels welcome go at your own pace.

If you're visiting the area in the off-season, join us for a 3-4 hour winter adventure through Discovery Passage. Learn about the area, stop and watch seals, sea lions, eagles, and if you're lucky maybe we'll spot a whale or two! In the winter most whales have begun their migration south, but the coast is still home to so much beautiful wildlife and scenery. Dress warm, the weather in the winter can be very unpredictable! We're talking winter coats, warm boots, touque's and gloves. We'll provide the hot chocolate, snacks and knowledgeable guide :) Trip requires a minimum of 4 people per booking
