The Basics

Located on a peninsula in Loch Duich, this stone castle is surrounded by water and rugged hills. Take a tour of the restored interior to see what life was like here and admire historical artifacts, then take a stroll along the shore of the loch. You can also see the castle on many single-day and multi-day tours of the region, which also include other nearby landmarks such as the Isle of Skye and Loch Ness.

EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! I enjoyed the trip very much and this experience will be memorable for ever! I'm impressed of the nature of the Scotland! I have never seen this kind of beauty again! Also, the company and the stories that the guide was telling us made the whole experience even more unique! I would surely recommend this trip to other friends of mine!

The Isle of Skye & Eilean Donan Castle from Inverness
Our Driver-guide Ray was just absolutely brilliant! He was so passionate with what he does that with every story he tells makes you feel like you are going back in time. Great storytelling accompanied by wonderful scottish folk music, perfectly placed in between each story. We enjoyed being with him so much that we had to book the same tour (Isle of Skye tour) again for the next day. We highly recommend it!

The Isle of Skye & Eilean Donan Castle from Inverness
This was a brilliant day. I saw many brilliant things: Eilean Donan Castle, the cliffs, Kilt Rock and other breathtaking scenery. The tour guide, Ray, was excellent. He was very informative, but also did not assume a lot of prior knowledge (which helped me out!). This was a brilliant and very worthwhile day out from Inverness.

Great way to see Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye & Eilean Donan Castle from Inverness
Be cautious if you get car sick (thin, curvy roads and a long day on the bus) but other than that it was a great way to see Isle of Skye! Ray, our driver, was fantastic. Lots of facts and information but not overly chatty to fill the quiet. Many quick stops for photos with longer stops at places to hike or see more of a castle or view. Highly recommend for teens and up. Young children would be restless.
