Rodney Bay offers a variety of activities. To enjoy the water and sand, head rent a chair and an umbrella at Reduit Beach and try some windsurfing or kitesurfing. Rodney Bay Village is often considered the shopping, dining, entertainment capital of the island and boasts St. Lucia’s only casino. You can visit the bay on a tour of the island or stay at one of the area’s many hotel’s make the bay your home base.

How to Get There
Rodney Bay is on Saint Lucia’s northwestern coast, just south of Pigeon Island National Park. The drive from Castries or George F. L. Airport takes about 30 minutes. You can also reach the bay by taking the coastal Route 1-A bus, which stops at Rodney Bay and other locations.
When to Get There
Rodney Bay is a year-round destination. St. Lucia’s high season is the dry season, which runs from mid-December to March. Come in February when the island celebrates Independence Day with a calypso parade, in April–May for the prestigious St. Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival on Pigeon Island, or in June for the all-island Carnival.
Pigeon Island National Landmark
Just north of Rodney Bay you’ll find the 44-acre (18-hectare) Pigeon Island nature reserve, one of the most historic places on the island. Visit to see colonial ruins and cannons and get a sense of the island’s past. Paths running through dry tropical forests lead to beaches that are ideal for swimming and to a lookout point at the top of Fort Rodney, which boasts panoramic views of the coastline.
