The Basics

Visitors come to the Secret Lagoon to bathe in its geothermal pool and the steamy waters are naturally heated to between 100–104˚F (38–40˚C) year-round. Secret Lagoon tours from Reykjavik often include a visit to the Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geyser, or other attractions in the Golden Circle area.

Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Tour from Reykjavík
What an amazing day my 2 friends and I had on the Golden circle and secret lagoon tour. It was our second day in Iceland and the warmest day of the year so far. Our driver and guide for the day was Thomas, what a lovely man so friendly, patient and knowledgeable about Iceland especially answering our incessant questions, he is a real credit to the company

Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Full Day Tour from Reykjavik by Minibus
I enjoyed all the stops! Was fortunate to have Bara as our guide. She treated us to chocolate covered black licorice which was delicious (and I hate US black licorice). She gave us so much info on Iceland customs, traditions, history, etc! Her English was superb!

Brilliant! I loved the whole day. Comfy bus, great timings to avoid the crowds at all the sites, superb guides Inky and Etle, etc etc. Really, it's the best way to see the Golden Circle.

Snowmobiling on Langjökull Glacier and Bathing in the Secret Lagoon
This trip was absolutely fantastic and represents great value for money - my wife (who has parkinsonism) and I are in our mid sixties and thoroughly enjoyed the company of younger trip members - having never riden a motor bike or skidoo - it was so easy to do - would recommend this to anybody for an exilerating experience - many thanks to all the staff for their support/ instructions during our visit- can't wait to come back and do it again - finished the day relaxing in the secret lagoon

Northern Lights and Midnight Sun

While the geothermal area around the Secret Lagoon is a prime viewing spot for the seasonal phenomena of the Northern Lights (winter) and the Midnight Sun (summer), the swimming pool itself is only open until 8pm in winter and 10pm in summer. Many tours combine an atmospheric evening swim in the lagoon with a Northern Lights viewing safari or a tour of the Golden Circle beneath the light of the Midnight Sun.
