Key Biscayne Tours and Activities

A tropical paradise just a stone’s throw from bustling Miami, Key Biscayne is a prime addition to any Florida itinerary. Hit the golf course, charter a fishing boat, or just chill out on a beach.
The Basics
Key Biscayne is a near-perfect locale for basking in balmy weather, kitesurfing, wildlife watching, and much more. Soak up the sun on a bike tour, or get a feel for the area on a Biscayne Bay sightseeing cruise that takes you past Miami attractions such as Millionaire’s Row and Fisher Island.
Things to Know Before You Go
- Key Biscayne has two parks popular with outdoors enthusiasts: Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and Crandon Park.
- For some of the best Key Biscayne views, climb Cape Florida Lighthouse and admire the seascape from the wraparound balcony.
How to Get There
On a barrier island just across the Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne is about a 15-minute drive from Downtown Miami. The most convenient way to get there is by car—take I-95 South to FL-913 South. Alternatively, hop on the 102 bus, which runs all the way to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.
When to Get There
South Florida summers are hot and humid, and fall is hurricane season. For the mildest, driest weather, go to Key Biscayne in winter or early spring.
Diving Along the Maritime Heritage Trail
For snorkelers and scuba divers, Key Biscayne offers an attraction that you won’t find anywhere else in the United States. Part of Biscayne National Park—and accessible only by boat—the Maritime Heritage Trail includes six different shipwrecks and a lighthouse, all underwater.
